I really hope that "Speak of the devil" thing doesn't work.
Drnick: I'm rather inclined to agree with you. I haven't read Lord of the Flies so I can't personally comment on it, like I said.
Good grief!

Perhaps the guy from the first verse of A Day In the Life?
Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning?

Time Lord?
Someone called for a Time Lord?
Oh, wait, it's just the book club pissing in the alleyway and shotuing random phrases creating more useful commentary and comparisons on their reads of the month.
Unfortunately, I'm not qualified to join this discussion because I've never read nor seen the Lord of the Rings - or even the Hobbit.
But I have read Lord of the Fleas Flies, and I can vouch for its excellence as a book and its mediocrity as a movie.
While on the other hand "Harrison Bergeron" was both a good short story and a good movie. Saw it in freshman year, 14. ^_^
...[T]he least initial deviation from the truth is multiplied later a thousandfold. -Aristotle, De Caelo
On the lips of the catechist the first proclamation must ring out over and over: “Jesus Christ loves you; he gave his life to save you; and now he is living at your side every day to enlighten, strengthen and free you.” - Pope Francis, The Joy of the Gospel
Call me out if I fail or seem to fail to live up to either of these. Either I will learn something, you will learn something, or we both will.

I can understand having never read LOTR. That's a frikin' huge book (singular, not plural). The movies, though... I don't know, i kinda thought everyone had seen them?

He still seems to post here every once in a while, but he works a helluva lot (not even really working as I believe it's mostly volunteer work). He's on our forum all the time though, of course!
