If you have suggestions for improvement of this thread, post a reply or e-mail me (theris264@hotmail.com; subject: AoMHListCiv).

  • Follow the Code of Conduct!
  • Use the "control+f"-hotkey to explore the page.
  • Your civilization/game design has to be in Age of Mythology's time frame (although this rule does not have to be taken strictly)
  • Only serious civilization/game designs desings, please!
  • You have to provide a link to a thread/site/download on your civilization/game design. This thread is only meant for compilations.
  • People can vote, in order to see what the most popular civilization/game design is.
  • You can only vote once, and your vote is irreversible.
  • No voting for ones own civilization/game design!
  • You can 'claim' a certain civilization/game design, when you haven't finished it yet, so other people know you are working on it. This in order to prevent 35 threads on the Inuit civilization popping up at the same moment.

    Aztecs

  • Unique buildings: water farms, great temples as wonders.
  • Unique units: “you-know-what-animals”-warriors.
  • Strengths: great infantry, cheap and fast trained units, cool Godpowers, very unique attributes.
  • Disadvantages: very unbalanced economy/military-techs (a God that focuses on economy, has no non-economic bonuses), units have low armour.

  • Unique buildings: two kinds of walls.
  • Unique units: trebuchets, the myth units belonging to the civilization, a Balrog as Titan unit.
  • Strenghts: depending on major Gods and mythological technologies.
  • Disadvantages: very weak on water.

  • Unique buildings: tree house, Mage academy, and Kig farm.
  • Unique units: airship, guild, and more.
  • Strengths: mythic units do not cost favor and they are cheap.
  • Disadvantages: human units and technologies cost too much resources, and also favor; the civilization has no tower.

    Babylonians

  • Forumer: SilentScreams
  • Unique buildings: Tower of Babel (Marduk); Hanging Gardens (Tiamat); Gates of Ishtar (Ishtar).
  • Unique unit: Phalangite; bowman; three-man chariot; archer elephant; Ziggurat siege tower; etcetera; mythical units: Sebitti, Yale, Amphisbaena, Re'em, Gryphon, Shedu, Sirrush, etcetera.
  • Strengths: can field very light and cheap (archers) or very heavy and expensive (elephants) units. Light units can be Assigned to Chariot and Elephant units. Great Projects are built and improved to upgrade attack, economy, or buildings. Reusable God Powers, decent Myth units. Strong walls.
  • Disadvantages: gold- and wood reliant. Villagers cheap but weak. Archers cheap but weak. Only one infantry unit. God Powers not too offensive.

    Celts

  • Forumer: SilentScreams
  • Unique building: all human military is built in Ring forts, strong barracks that shoot arrows.
  • Unique units: human units: warrior, Madaris, Carpentom, woad raider, Scramasax, knight, etcetera; Mythological units: pixie, Firbolg, water giant, witch, dragon, death raven, Wicker man, etcetera.
  • Strengths: best heroic units in the game (druids and knights); Special Mythological units tear human units to shreds; powerful defense due to Ring forts; reusable Godpowers.
  • Disadvantages: weaker economy than most civilizations; siege weapons affordable but weak until Mythic Age; no hard counters until Heroic Age.

    Hindus

  • Forumer: Thot_Celay
  • Unique buildings: sacred baths, underground traps, movable barracks.
  • Unique units: elephants (they need some differentiation with the Egyptian ones though, maybe by giving them ranged and melee attack -like the siege tower-, or something else)
  • Strengths: boomers and good defence.
  • Disadvantages: very complex and hard to play civilization; this civilization will never be in a game: the religion is still alive and would offend many people.

    Inca

  • Forumer: GoForGoldenJarls
  • Unique buildings: stone buildings have a lot of hitpoints, and most of them only cost gold, but some cost wood.
  • Unique units: no cavalry, but they have a couple faster infantry, however, they are lightly armored; Chanca have a bonus versus buildings; macemen can knock down enemy units.
  • Strengths: really good scouts (Chasqui); exceptionally strong Godpowers.
  • Disadvantages: no true cavalry; weaker mythological units; no strong melee hero.

    Japanese

  • Forumer: Sp3ctre
  • Unique buildings: imperial palace, master blacksmith and Death-stone.
  • Unique units: emperor, mounted bowmen, Ronin, Samurai, etcetera.
  • Strenghts: strong mid-late game military; strong (but fragile) economy.
  • Disadvantages: no siege weapons; emperor is vital.

    Tupi-Guarani

  • Forumer: TatsuEnguia
  • Unique buildings: oca (new type of house), resources tent, military tent, palisade wall, etcetera.
  • Unique units: two-handed skirmisher, fast pikeman, moving archer, incendiary.
  • Strenghts: most of the units take one population slo; units are cheap and fast.
  • Disadvantages: units are very weak, the civilization does not have cavalry or siege units.

    Chinese

  • Forumer: Natus
  • Unique buildings: fairy pavillion, adaptable Towncenters.
  • Unique units: lancers, melee chariots, officers, gunpowder units (including rocketeers) and Fox Spirits.
  • Strenghts: cheap buildings, military units, and villagers; very strong hero pairs and upgradable Mythological units; super Mythological units (Dragons) in Mythic Age.
  • Disadvantages: weak buildings and units (unupgraded); no fortresses; infantry line weak.

    Etruscans

  • Forumer: skystrider
  • Unique buildings: vineyard, tavern.
  • Unique units: Haruspex (fast scout with a large line of sight), Lachum (hero type cavalry), Quadriga (a four horse chariot).
  • Strenghts: strong naval power, good myth units.
  • Disadvantages: bad heroes, myth units a little more expensive than other cultures'.

    Hawaiians

  • Forumer: skystrider
  • Unique buildings: mystic hut, hut, shrine.
  • Unique units: Ko’oko’o (anti-siege infantry), Ka’ane (woman with a noose), Lä’au Pälau (bladed cudgel counter infantry).
  • Strenghts: totally rule on any map with water as ships are better than other races's.
  • Disadvantages: no cavalry or siege.

    Hittite

  • Forumer: skystrider
  • Unique building: hero shrine (trains heroes).
  • Unique units: vassal, Ubarra, ramming chariot.
  • Strenghts: strong mythological units and heroes, good counter-archers and counter-cavalry.
  • Disadvantages: weak naval power.

    Japanese

  • Forumer: Zappos
  • Unique building: rice paddie
  • Unique units: several: including mounted archers, Samurai, Sohei, and monks; many colorful myth units to work with, including shapeshifters (foxes) and Oni.
  • Strenghts: good fishing ships; very good archers; formidable infantry, but it lacks good armour.
  • Disadvantages: weak navy (except for the fishing ships; bad goldmining; weak buildings; good light cavalry, but bad heavy cavalry; bad siege weapons.

    Mayans

  • Forumer: Underpants Man
  • Unique buildings: warrior-training base; Tecpan.
  • Unique units: shamans, eagle warriors, javelineers, macana warriors.
  • Strenghts: faster, cheaper research; no black map (just fog of war); swift military units.
  • Disadvantage: weak navy

    Romans

  • Unique buildings: many, including Archimedes' tower, insula and villa.
  • Unique units: lots of them, including cataphract, onager and praetorian.
  • Strengths: hard to rush, cheap buildings, wide variety of military units.
  • Disadvantages: very weak buildings, units take much population slots.

  • Unique buildings: plants that grow, including solar flowers and mushrooms.
  • Unique units: chariots drawn by goats; cats; boars and elves.
  • Strengths: mythology; unlimited Godpowers; strong, elemental myth units.

    Theris, some comments about the Aztec/Maya civ, first of all it was made by 3 forummers: Compa_Mighty, Rodya_255 and myself, second it's the Aztec outline, nothing to do with the Mayas, third there aren't any naval markets nor naval caravans it our civ, so I will apreciate if you made these corrections, thanks.

    Oh, an of course my vote goes for the Aztecs

    Hi there, some more comments about the Aztec/Mayan civ., I just want to make clear that it was me who posted the Aztec/Mayan suggestion in the thread you took over, but it has nothing to do with the link you included, and yes, I did suggest naval markets and canoe caravans, although I didn't write any outline for the civ. I would appreciate that you specify that (or either take what I said out of the thread). Thanks a lot.

    I have pictures. Though, the title might be a little dirty, it would still make a great idea for the next ES game. Mine is only an idea not a total template, you shouldent base idea's on how long they are or how in-depth they are. We are only holding idea's, ES is not going use every little detailed part for the next ES game, chances of that happening are hopless. So dont go for fancy long idea's, ES will not use the idea's word for word. So vote for something that intersest you, not something tht just looks good(Okay, I think I took that too seriously)

    One cannot vote for his/her own civ, because only few people visit this forum, and about 90% of the people that vote have also made up their own civ here. So if everyone would vote for gis/her own civ, we would end up with everyone having a shared first place.:S

    Well, just for kicks......my take on a Japanese Civ.

    Forumer: Zappos

    Civ Name: Japan

    Unique buildings: Rice paddies. Monastaries. Onsen

    Unique Units: Several. Including Mounted archers, Samurai, monks, Sohei, Ninja, and unique myth units.

    Strengths. Strong Archers. Good fishing. Pretty good farming. Powerful Infantry.

    Weaknesses: No heavy Calvary. Poor siege. Weak buildings. Poor gold mining.
