Thanks Colossus and Ceres!
I found the one Ceres referred to here:

OK, It's review time. I tried both of these utilities out, and here are my first impressions to anyone looking to try out a renaming utility...
The SkWizZ AOE III ReczZ Renamer is the most straightforward to use, but I found that it has some problems with reeeallly long file names (like recorded files I'd already downloaded). However, I think I'd recommend to others that they start with this one first, then try the other one if SkWizZ doesn't do what you want. The other utility, aoe3RecManager, is a bit more techy, and I had to fiddle with it to actually get it to work initially (specifically, I had to tweak the regular expression it uses to filter the file names properly in my Savegame directory). That said, once I actually got it working, it worked very well, and I liked its configurability with respect to the file name output. One interesting feature of aoe3RecManager is that it sits in your tray, and you can launch AOE3 directly from it, which is a nice feature, but I was unsure of why it was there in the first place, since I don't know if I really want a utility like this resident in my tray all the time. I guess the reason for its existence is probably "because they can" -- and I can live with that. Anyway, both utilities get the job done once you figure out the quirks, and you can't go wrong with either of them. I'd advise trying them both out and seeing which one fits your workflow. To the authors of the utilities: GREAT WORK, AND THANK YOU!!!
