So, continuing my theme of dedicated analysis of stuff nobody really cares about, here is my comprehensive study of the least desirable card out of all 14 civilisations' decks. For those of you expecting "White Fleet" or "Strelet Horde", look away now: the cards that I have compared are those with no strategic purpose whatsoever. White Fleet could possibly be desirable in some sort of FI-fish boom, and even Strelet Horde has its uses.
Many economic cards came to my attention, particularly sawmill and silversmith, but even those (combined with their direct superiors) might theoretically be used in short Treaty games. Others, like House of Braganca and Master Surgeons could perhaps be profitable in certain circumstances. I very nearly went for TEAM Native Warrior Societies as being the worst card, but finally I discovered the two cards that could not fail to be utterly useless:
Advanced Artillery (French)
It automatically gives you the Field Guns and Howitzers upgrades for free. Neat, eh? 1000 resources saved - for anIndustrial card. If you have enough artillery to make the upgrade worthwhile, you'll almost certainly have a foundry, from where you can just research the upgrades yourself. Imagine you're a french player, and have just hit industrial. You've got two factories, heavy cannons, 6 cuirassiers, extra forts, and lots of other wonderful Age4 cards. You choose Advanced Artillery. Well done
House of Braganca (Portuguese)
By popular feedback I have realised that this card deserves a place also. It has a much larger worth than A.Art, but the upgrades it provides still have to be researched, one of them isn't available until industrial, and all in all is utterly undeserving to be a tier.1 card, let alone a tier.40. The sole advantage is that, once you get a high level deck and are finally able to shrug off A.Art, you have cards like this to look forward to!
Feel free to correct me if you find an even worse card or just want to tell me that I'm an annoying n00b that should stop confirming things you couldn't be less bothered about if you tried.
Giskard: BrianManahan = Tsar_Ivan_VII? Discuss.
Giskard: BrianManahan = Tsar_Ivan_VII. It's no longer a question.
Giskard: Isn't BrianManahan liable to be banned anyway for being the smurf of a banned forumer (Tsar_Ivan_VII)?
BrianManahan: I'm not sure who that is, Giskard, but I see what you is trying to do. I don't smurf >:O
