Like Kivvy I like having the Cree on board. But only Saguenay has a guaranteed double shot of Cree. It's also fairly open for raiding and has whales in the bay.
Other favorite maps: Any map with whaling except Hispaniola. I don't like the cliff in the middle. Andes without river, Araucania (lots of treasures and natives and some fishing), NWT and Yukon because of the numerous passages and good treasure quality.
Rockies are a big disappointment. The map always seems too small. Not enough room to build, not enough wood and hunts, trade routes and natives are in inconvenient locations, cliffs make it hard to build forward, but are full of gaps so you have a devil of a time figuring out why you spent 2 minutes building walls and still getting raided.
Sonora and Himalayas are bad too. Your building area is full of buttes and pillars of stone. This isn't cute, guys. It adds to lag, you can't build a farm if there's even one stupid pillar in the way, these maps tend to be low on hunts too. Painted Desert has much of the same problem, but a decent amount of hunts and low wood (oddly enough) makes this less annoying.
