Alright, I know a lot of things in AoE3 r unbelieveable
But
Oprinchinks. come on.
First of all, I do not' understand how a man on a horse with a horsewhip could be good at siege.
Even with a good imagination... I don't see this guy tearing down castles.

it's more of a flail than a whip. And they use torches to seige buildings

To be fair then all units should do the same siege damage except be weaker against certain buildings, EG Forts which are solid stone...
In realism could a few men chucking burning sticks are a giant stone building tear it down that effectively? Most buildings don't even get destroyed they get cleansed with everyone inside being killed.
It's all about gameplay not realism... How real would it be if Skirmishers behaved "realistically"?
They would hide in the forests, snipe the life out of muskets and even cav and then sprint off without casualties.

Oprichniks were Ivan the Terrible's secret police, being good at attacking villagers are buildings makes sense in that aspect.

Discuss.
Giskard: BrianManahan = Tsar_Ivan_VII? Discuss. Giskard: BrianManahan = Tsar_Ivan_VII. It's no longer a question. Giskard: Isn't BrianManahan liable to be banned anyway for being the smurf of a banned forumer (Tsar_Ivan_VII)? BrianManahan: I'm not sure who that is, Giskard, but I see what you is trying to do. I don't smurf >:O

If it wasn't for opri... Russia would not do that well with strelet range being shite that it is. Pumping out units faster and cheaper does not necessarily make up for the fact they are weaker than the standard (especially vs cavalry). Cossacks are decent, but they do not make up for the fact that infantry units are weaker, so this is a bonus unique unit for Russia that they needed.
I do see your point, but take ironclads for example. They should kick the crap out of just about everything on water if appearance meant anything, yet canoes for their cost equivalents defeat everything on the water, including ironclads.
Like Ugmo said, they use torches to attack buildings. And it's not quite a normal whip anyway, if you look closely it has a blade on the end.

It's not a whip, it's a mace like the Iron Flail that China has. Like nunchucks, but longer and heavier on one end and made of steel.
Rushing With France the french ar general an bad civ. bcause they know what the enemy can do! as an french u must luck that u have more crossbows then pikes. pikes ar only for buildings or cav. the deck should have in 3 hussars. thats the way to winning! a nother good card is 700 wood and 700 food. have fun by capture the enemy -Loessli
