Since everyone is always making threads asking whether or not ESO is down, I've decided that it would be a good idea to just have one stickied thread like this.

Post in here any quesitons you have about ESO being down

Is ESO down today? The day is 8th of January 2011.

ESO won't load in game, and when I try to go to www.eso.com it says the servers are taking to long to respond. I don't remember a newspost on their site about it going down, I visited just 2 days ago when I heard Aloys quit (turned out Microsoft had just "colonised" AoE3 support).

ESO seems to be fine.

Aloysius didn't quit -- Microsoft has just taken over support of agecommunity.com.

Robot Entertainment still handles running ESO servers.

Yeah, like I said, turned out that Microsoft had "Colonised" AoE3 support.

And ESO was definately down, if only for an hour or so. My internet was fine, yet the game wouldn't connect to ESO and when I tried going to the Ensemble Studios website it said "server is taking too long to respond".

Ryz0n:
Hey everyone,

I'll be changing the server maintenance schedule around a bit. All server work will still be done on Tuesday, however I'll be conducting maintenance between approximately 10AM PST (GMT -8) and 12PM PST.

Please PM me if you have any questions regarding the issue. During the downtime you may see the ESO servers appear online and offline a couple times, this is normal. If people would like I can either put up a post here when the server maintenance is complete, or do the twitter thing if we've got a micro-blogging inclined crowd. I'll leave the thread open until next week if anyone has comments on the new change / preferred notification method - then split it off and lock this portion when next week rolls around.

Thanks for your co-operation everyone. At this time the maintenance for 1/18/2011 is complete and you should be good to go back into your games!

Hey, lads!

Planning on buying Age3 again. Used to own it on Mac, but now I have dat gaming rig. However, I'm curious if ESO is up and running. If not, am I able to play with friends online, if we connect by direct IP? :P

Thanks in advance.

Snorricam, ESO is online and working so there shouldnt be an issue connecting with your friends.
