Does anyone know of any custom maps for Mac that are good for FFAs and are "earth" shaped or shaped like a continent?

Hey, FenrisWulf made an Earth variant not too long ago and posted it to the Downloads section. It has all the usual Earth gimmicks, such as polar start, show/hide map, and FFA/teams option.
If you want some of the other ones, Lord Berminator made a series consisting of North America, Central America, Earth total war, and Europe. I didn't see if he uploaded these to Downloads, but if he didnt and you want them, I can host them in a zip file or tar.gz file on my personal site for you to get.

If you have a PC the correct directory would be My Documents/My Games/Age of Empires 3/Scenario. It's where all your custom scenarios and screenshots go. So try to poke around and find where your screenshots are saved, and the Scenario folder should be in the same directory.

Does this map only work for TAD, or will it work for the fanpatch too? Cos I put it in my scenario folder, but it didn't show up.

So I put the file into my scenario folder and also in my RM3 folder, and I can now access it through the editor. But I want to be able to access it through skirmish mode and use it for online play. I notice that in my RM3 folder, there are my other custom maps that I got from other players, but they come in files of two, and the files look totally different from the one I downloaded.
what should I try now?

Ok, so I can successfully dl and install random map scripts. But the earth map I want is a scenario. How do I make it so I can use the scenario in multiplayer?

It's not RM3, there should be a specific folder called Scenario where you put all your custom scenarios.
You can also try putting it in the game install directory under Scenario or Campaign, but then you won't be able to play it online.
I wish I knew more about Mac install, then I would be able to give you better instructions.

So heres the deal, there is a scenario folder I can get to by right clicking on the aoe3 icon, going to "show package contents", then resources>gamedata>scenario
there is also a scenario folder that I can get to by going to documents, then there is just a plain age of empires III folder with a scenario folder inside
I put the file in both of those, neither lets be play it in multiplayer, I can only access it through the editor.
if anyone has a random map script of a world map, that would be cool

I think you forgot, you have to click on "extra options" in GR before you host the game, and select "scenario" as the type of game you want to play.

when you do get a scenario to load in multiplayer, let us know, and then maybe Berm will upload his new world map scenarios in a zip pack for you to download. I still only have them from going online to ESO. *pokes Bermy to do what is required to make them available to Mac players*

Okay, if it's a scenario you're looking to use on Mac just go to documents and open your "Age of Empires III" folder and look for a folder named "Scenario". Place it in there and it should work.
As for multiplayer, I know nothing about LAN (because I have no idea what the heck it is and have never used it, although I have tried) but I use GameRanger. All you have to do to get a multiplayer scenario working is when you're hosting, select "Extra Options" And a list will come up with Supremacy, Deathmatch, and Scenario. Choose scenario and then once you're hosting it will allow you to choose which of your scenarios you want to use. Keep it min though that you can't change the number of player set for the map, unless you edit the map yourself. Also once you've selected a scenario you cannot choose another from the list like you can with random maps, you have one try to pick the right scenario otherwise you have to go back.

Here's my collection of world style maps, including Berm's maps and Italy, Spain, and Europe. Some have bad decks, some have decks only for Euro civs, and some have no real decks just the default ones.
To download and save the file, either cut and past the URL into a new window/tab, or alt-select the link and Save As...to the same folder you saved your other world map scenarios.
I couldn't find the original downloads here at HG, and some arent even uploaded, but are freely available to PC players on ESO, so I am going to assume it is OK to distribute them, freely and unmodified, to Mac players through this link.
If you are an author of one of these maps and wish to not share it in this way, please let me know and I will remove it from the archive.
