Roanoke: The Lost Conoly

A historical campaign made by CaveTown.

My Story:
A new colony is set up, but they start to run out of supplies. So their leader, John White goes to Britain to get supplies, but it's been a year since he left, and the colony is being attacked by Jod the Ugly. The leader took to long to get back, so after gathering enough wood, the colony set sail for Croatan.

Historical Story:
In 1587, over 100 men, women and children journeyed from Britain to Roanoke Island on North Carolina’s coast and established the first English settlement in America. Within three years, they had vanished with scarcely a trace. England’s initial attempt at colonization of the New World was a disaster, and one of America’s most enduing legends was born.

The different views that show the city and stuff don't lag, as long as your not an idiot and have a crappy computer and turn up the setting higher then your comp can handle .

I'm just making a campaign based on my own story of Roanoke, I don't really need info for any places, but Thank You anyways.

Cavetown this is forward but would you want to take on a side projec ,start a map, from blank, occupy it together, then build a pitch by pitch story, while of course we work on are own projects. It would be publish optional, experiment, for are own enjoyment, ? First blood would of course be yours, pick a project, I find storyies.

Sorry if I seem abrupt, I do realize you've been around for some time. If nothing else just concider this an offer to do some play testing I've enjoyed your aom scn. I believe you have a pretty fresh aproach.

I was thinking though about a Robinson Corrusoe sp.scn.

You do have change the 'cheif' to 'chief', don't you?
The scenario looks very promising, although I like (actually, love) RPG's more.

(I thought that the first British colonization of the America's was in Virginia, Jamestown to be exact, in 1607, with the inhabitants being known as Planters, living under very harsh conditions (but greater numbers, 7289 between 1607 and 1625))

This campaign is about the British Colony Roanoke, not Jamestown, Jamestown was the first "successful" colony of the British. Roanoke was however one of the failed ones. Roanoke's colonization failed twice.

I'm sorry, I don't exactly understand what you mean..

Hi, I just thought It would be fun to work on a map together. Kind of like a back-burner project while we work on are own stuff. Once we come up with a idea we send it back en fourth updating it a little at a time. It would only be published If we both agree.

My idea is an Island "cast away" adveture we make are own build list for taking over Island tribes. Could do a multiple player each guy has to gain control of Island resourses, for his own king.

Now I know what you mean. I'll think about working on a map with you, I don't know if I will yet, but it does sound like a good idea.

We could start with hand drawn notes and maps and pitch a few different story. Lets give it a little time and see what presents its self for opportunities.

I can't really make anything out of drawn maps, the only way I can make things good is if I don't exacly plan them usually, but I can try. I accept working on a scenario with you!

Excellent. For now just need some quick material less we take on a writer. Lets enjoy the freedom of not having a project and concider whatever but do concider the kind of time you would like to set a side. If its real good I may set my current project on the back burner. Cool bye -szig

I like this idea.

But do us all one small favor:

Make your grammar as correct as possible to give the campaign a more professional feel. (i.e. "No, the cave is falling run!" should read, "No! The cave is falling! Run!") and ("Look at those people, they are all going to die." should read, "Look at those people. They are all going to die.")

Thanks.

I'm not trying to make every last little detail perfect, and that might take a while to get through every scenario, and edit every one of the spelling and other errors/mistakes.

Hi Cavetown I use dialog place holders my self when building on a large scale which is the only way scenario design happens you need to put things in place to keep the work flowing, so having the ideal dialog or annimation or unit in place origionaly is alot of times luck or careful planning/(which a year is not a long time). so ease up and enjoy whats being offered or do it your self.
