I have a trigger that create army one of 20 musketeers and tells them to attack a fort. Once they're dead, I have another trigger that is triggered by the "army dead" trigger. Then I have the army spawn again, and move again.
This works only a few times... I notice that it ends as soon as 50 units have gone through the cycle. It seems that the new units that are spawning are not actually considered to be in the army they are told to deploy from. By the end of the test, units are spawning like crazy and are not heeding any move orders.
Is there any way to get that army so that new units replace the old army's trigger status when they die? Is there a way to get the same effect through a different method?

Are you using the Army Deploy trigger? If so, make sure you have the clear existing units set to "On".

Yeah, it's because the counter fuzzles out if it reaches the max total number of units in that army, in AoM it was 30.
