OK, sig changed.
My yelling friend is also a 16-year-old teenager.
And by the way, what does "yelling" exactly mean? I can't seem to discover the accurate meaning. ^^'
Here the website is also down.
Some portuguese:
*Guerra da Tríplice Aliança - War of the Triple Alliance
*In portuguese, names like Paraguay or Uruguay are named Paraguai and Uruguai.
*Exército - Army
*Marinha - Navy
*Soldado - Soldier
*Monarquia - Monarchy
*Imperador - Emperor
*Império do Brasil - Empire of Brazil
*Comida - Food
*Madeira - Wood
*Ouro - Gold / Moeda - Coin
*Quartel - Barracks
*Estábulo - Stable
Pronounce:
* The Ç letter, also contained in the french language, is similar to the german ß and is pronounced like SS. But has restricted use: can never start a word and can only be used along with A, U or O. (the AoE3 portuguese unit "Cassador" is actually spelled "Caçador", but it goes with SS because of you english-speaking guys who don't have Ç in your computers' keyboards)
* the standart tonic syllable is the penultimate one. But when there is an accent like ´ ^ ~ over an vowel, that syllable with the accent is the tonic one. Accents may also change the pronounce of the vowel sometimes.
* NH is pronounced like a spanish Ñ
* No consonant doubles exist in portuguese, except for RR and SS who do have pronounce difference from a regular R and S. Exceptions to this rule are people's names.
* The distance between european portuguese and brazilian portuguese is big, including different accents, different usual vocabulary and very different grammar and ortographic rules.
that's it for now.
