It seems every no rush player enjoys the often-seen Great Plains map, but what about Supremacy? A bit rarer with the addition of several thousand Asian maps surrounded by water!
Players in 1v1 each start out next to a trading post route and site respectively. One herd of 4 bison, and rarely, a second herd within TC sight is visible. The bottom player will have a Cheyenne trading post to his left while the top player will have a Comanche trading post to his left.

The trade route will always have three posts on it, one to each player, and one in the center to fight over. Oftentimes Ottoman players will send their explorer to the center route to build on it first.
There are always a decent amount of trading posts to claim on this map, eight for 1v1, and nine for (I believe) every other player limit. Comanche and Cheyenne can be found, both cavalry units for food and wood. In a standard Great Plains 2v2 map, the

You will start with two silver mines (2000 coin each) on opposite sides of your town center, and the rest of the mines will either be common in the center or side of the map. (I find my opponent has all the mines)
Hunting and herding can be rare and unforgiving on this map, as your second hunt can be far from your tc, most likely towards the center of the map or north. You start with 4 bison, and can get an additional 12 from the Cheyenne trading post.
Wood is scarce in the center of the map but plentiful on the sides. You will start with a few trees, but don’t depend on much more.
