You'd be surprised how tiring it can be trying to get a modem to work for however many hours I was gone. I tried everything imaginable until I finally threatened to replace it at which point it suddenly deicided to work.

Anyway that means I'm going to bed to recover from the stress and anguish caused by my modem.

I've been playing through Abe's Oddysee (again) recently. In the Paramonian temple, there's one screen which always kills me about a million times before I pass it.

It's this screen:

Basically, you have to jump from platform to platform, all the while avoid the swinging rocks which kill you the second they touch you.
That wouldn't be so difficult - just taking it one platform as a time, and is a quite similar screen to a few others in the game. However, there's also a fiendish black bat! I've circled the bat in red to show you where it currently is, but the bastard flies round and around the screen, and upon touching the players, kills him! It leaves no nook or cranny safe, which means you have to jump from platform-to-platform very quickly before the bat comes around.

It's hard to time it right.

1. Can't kill the bat. As you can see in the screenshot, I'm virtually naked, carry no weapons, and touching the bat = me die.

2. The bat flies all over the place. Even close to the ground.

3. No way!

This sucks. It's rainy, and I haven't got to play tennis all day. Now I'm bored.
