I was working in a lab with a fair number of Jewish students in it. I overheard some girls talking about how much they cheated on fast day. "I had an egg sandwich on the way over in my car and almost hit the rabbi in the crosswalk lol" doesn't seem like something they want you to know.

I also used to play cards with a Muslim friend who had a special "Ramadan schedule" at work. "Oh, I just work the night shift that whole month, saves me a lot of bother having to fast and stuff." Letter of the law, check. This is in a city with a Ramadan breakfast special at the local White Castle. It's open 24 hours. You come in before 5am, you get double breakfast muffins for the price of one, and 1 free refill any size until 5am.

Yeah most muslims I know do not fast properly. Or sleep all day and wake up at night which essentially destroys the purpose of fasting.
