You know, not to be mean, but I soon won't be posting here anymore if this place continues going downhill. The forums are always slow , the content meagre, most new salooners post rubbish (and troll) and the software is so outdated it's not even funny anymore.
Speaking as ex-staff, I'm not surprised. HG is a behemoth of a bureaucratic mess that is supposed to make things easier, but in effect just kills all good intentions and ideas on the doorstep.
Come on, HG. You need a reset. Kill this old mess and move on.

protip: if you don't like something, don't post and let it get archived. Survival of the most entertaining.

jds, you're doing fairly fine from the little I've read, just stop deprecating yourself all the time. Start making good posts instead of making bad posts and then apologize for it.
I don't really think about the weather now that I've begun working. 12 hours in the office and then taking the tube home... not much fresh air. Not that there's an abundance of fresh air in London.
I quite like it though. More than Paris, actually. I live in east London (Newham to be specific) which is a very mixed area. Lots of preparations taking place for the Olympics as well, will have to visit the site sometime soon.
Currently living together with two gay men, which especially some of my female friends have found quite amusing. They're like the rest of us, maybe with a bit more hair grooming. I was lucky to quite easily find a good room, as you can see. I pay £380 for it, all bills included, and it's just a 100 meters from the tube station.
For those of you not knowing, I'm here doing an internship at an architecture office. I will stay here for at least six months, after which I will go back to Tokyo for another internship. It's a very very hectic business but it's a lifestyle I like so I'm happy.
I quite like the area I'm currently working in (Bloomsbury). Busy, noisy, active, everything within reach, a big museum with old stuff, lots of small parks and little book shops. Will have to expand my experience of the city tomorrow, got the weekend off luckily.

I'm afraid he has turned to the dark side.

Just curious, what does the architecture internship entail?
And yes, Cheese needs to post more.

Doing an internship in architecture is a very different matter depending on what office you pick. This is my third, and best so far. This office is very small and very experimental, it's not unpaid but they salary is symbolic. On the plus side I get lots of responsibility. Three days after I began, I was already in charge of presentation material, print and delivery of a competition entry. I will also work as a teaching assistant in Paris during the autumn. So I'm pleased.
Nice to see you, Hikari, despite your ring finger troubles. Weren't you considering an career in architecture, if my mind doesn't betray me?
