Major, your voice is completely un-Majory. I had a totally different impression.

It is pretty bad when you play Minecraft all evening and then go to sleep and dream about Minecraft all night.

There's rumour of a new monster in Minecraft's future that moves blocks around when you aren't looking. Imagine having some of these little bastards inside your house. Of course, they're also coded to behave like the Weeping Angels from Doctor who. You basically have to kill them on sight because you can never look away, or run away.

I never had any nightmares about creepers or zombies or skeletons. But these gimme the willies, breaking into my house, rearranging my furniture, and then hunting me down for looking at them askance.

From what I understand the new mob stays in the distance moving blocks unless you look directly at it (place reticle on it) then it runs/teleports towards you and tries to kill you.

I would rather they didn't move blocks near or far. I can deal with dying a lot to mobs, but just one block moved in the "distance" might be the block a redstone wire was sitting on. Or a wall segment for a cactus farm some ways from my front door.

I don't play this game but I like the idea. It's deliciously meta.

Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs?
Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar?
Not one now, to mock your own grinning?

I watched Blue Velvet last night. Is Twin Peaks as weird or even weirder?
posted 08-28-11 09:49 AM EDT (US)     1994 / 2710
Weirder at heart. But there's a lot of sloppy boring soap opera nonsense and arbitrary character transformations, particularly in season two (which i really didn't like compared to season one. ending is v good though)

Yeah, shrink's pretty much right. Though I don't think you're giving the show enough credit. It was way too uneven to call it my favorite TV show or anything like that but some moments (episodes) in the show are some of the best thing I've seen on television.

Primarily many episodes of the first season (the third episode with the dream and the finale particularly), two episodes of season two (the ones where they solve the show's primary mystery) and the final episode which you could say end on a cliffhanger but it could also stand as the end of the story (if the story is very disturbing. Which it is).

I haven't watched the movie yet but I've heard it's largely incomprehensible due to it being a sole Lynch project and it being cut down from like five hours to just over two in the editing stages.

It is very wierd but Agent cooper is easily my favorite television FBI Agent.

Oh and one more note: I could watch the scenes in the black lodge basically forever even if it didn't always make a lot of sense. There's something so hypnotic about it.

Blue Velvet? It has weird details and symbolism but the story is actually straightforward.

I agree with you drnick; a couple of episodes are sublime, some of the best television I've seen, and agent cooper is a fantastic character

if you're talking about the twin peaks movie, i've also not seen it and don't really intend to. i quite like how the tv show left it

No I meant the Twin Peaks movie. Aparently, it's a prequel so I don't think it messes with the ending much (though I admit that it might).
