Yah, exactly. Oxford stuff is just reading and writing essays and the odd exam (the exams are fairly terrible actually).

Have you tried guitar hero, thats the only way I can play a guitar with and degree of success.

Also I used to be able to play the intro to smoke on the water, not much of an achievement though.

Yup, pretty much.

Ha ha ha. My friend plays bass and when I was at his graduation party at his house, I figured the Smoke on the Water intro out in 5 minutes or so, so yeah, I'd say not much of an accomplishment. Beating Through the Fire on Flames on Expert IS an accomplishment though... one I have not achieved. People actually think that people that beat that song on expert are actually cooler than real guitarists. I once witnessed a man get laid literally within minutes of showing a girl he could do that.

The intro is actually on guitar rather than bass, the bass joins in later.

The intro is also the best part of the song, hth.

Never really got into the Dead. A lot of people in high school used to wear Grateful Dead t-shirts but if you asked them who Jerry Garcia was, they would probably draw a blank.
