Good afternoon, folks.
I am feeling a bit better after another night of poor sleep but apparently it isn't the flu, rather it was something else. The only thing that comes to mind is possibly a sinus infection, but I haven't had much drainage. Anyway, I'm feeling almost back to normal.
(I do not use any antibacterial soaps or crap in the house. Maybe I should start?) The whole idea never made sense when all you really need to do is wash your hands properly to begin with. That's all you CAN do. There will still be billions of bugs on your hands, or in your mouth, or wherever. The difference is that they will not be borderline resistant to halogenated organic compounds.
That said, if you work in a hospital for long enough, you will possibly be a carrier of a drug resistant bug. About 25% of hospital workers carry multidrug resistant Staph. Which means you are more likely to pass it along to patients, and if you yourself are incapacitated in the hospital, you are more likely to become ill when that bug you are carrying starts winding up in your bloodstream, surgical wounds, or lungs.
