North American Theater v3.30
Will work with all 3 versions of the game - AOEII, TWC and TAD.
NEW:
* Additional defensive building upgrade (Brick Fortifications) - depends on Bastion and Star Fort being upgraded first. Thank you to Tyranick for the suggestion.
* Cossack gets a carbine.
* Different hats for american and canadian snipers.
* British get Cannon instead of Rocket
* British, USA, CSA, Canada & Russia get Hale Rocket, which has a huge range but LOS is half the range - as is the auto attack range. Needs a spotter to target objects beyond LOS.
This is called the North American Theater (NAT) because the mod is focused on developments in North America from the end of the French-Indian Wars in 1763 through to the late 19th century. The mod includes most civilizations that experienced military conflict with the new United States of America.
Here is a summary of the civilizations covered with the date and name of the conflict:
USA The focus nation of most battles in North America during the period.
British 1775, the American Revolution and 1812, the War of 1812
Ottomans 1801, the First Barbary War and 1815, the Second Barbary War
Canada 1812, the War of 1812
Mexico 1846, the Mexican American War
CSA 1861, the American Civil War
Spanish 1898, the Spanish American War
Sioux Various conflicts
Iroquois Various conflicts (mostly when allied with British/Canadians)
Aztecs No known conflicts with the US
Russian No known conflicts with the US
These civilizations will function with the AI and new Home Cities can be created.
The primary focus is on the American Civil War, which represents a time of major change in technologies and tactics. There were also a large number of battles in this war, with significant records being kept. It was the desire to create scenarios for this period that inspired creation of the NAT mod, although it has been completed in a way that will enable the traditional AI skirmishes to be played. ESO multiplayer gaming will not be possible but LAN based multiplayer games should be.
Please read the documentation supplied with the NAT Installer for more details of the changes included.

I like the Canadians the best and the installation is kinda confusing, even though it is auto installer. It took me around 3 tries and you should have a manual installation too because, again it is pretty confusing with the auto installer, all in all it is a pretty good mod. |

TWO thumbs up bro. This is fenomenol. I was already desparate and wanted to create united states myself but have no skills to do that. i was dreaming to play as USA and use all those buildings that ES put into camapignes but left out in skirmish (like barns, bakery, hardware store and so on). Than i ran into this modpack on this site and was so happy. At least i can play as USA in singleplay. Your mod deserves highest cheers an it desrves to be an expansion for age3. Bravo, thank you very much. I await more mods like that. But the mod is not without flawes. The scenario about 1864 civil war is a bit colorless. i basicly spammed heavy artillery in order to win. And when playing aginast AI it didn't storm my redoubt and didn't charged like in real life to overteake my postion. From that point of view campaigne is almost lifeless and lacks the thrill and improtance of any strategy . Lincoln is misspeled as Loncoln. I found some minor pathfinding problems may be due to the terrain. And i was a bit surprised when i was playing as Mexico the model of which you borrowed from Protuguese. I heard wagons spoke portuguese while settlers spanish. The girl Soldadera is so sweet!!! i love it. It's of course disappointing that the mod can't be used in ES online. NO Population cap is so great beacuse it will allow trully epic and gradiose LAN parties possiblem with thousands of unites ata time. Hail to our talented modding community !!! Yeah, i like ur ideas very much, but alas if only it could go further as the stuff is great but aoe3 limits u
Art and Sound: 5
greay
Installation/Instructions: 5
Nice and simple, i like the idea of going back and forth between moddeda and un modded :D
Story/Description: 4
Nice concepy
Additional Comments:
Some things still need balancing. Soon when its released i'd like to see some more things buffed, like defenses. Thing thats alway got me is the fort walls, they should be far superior to any other walls and have high hit points, also it would be nice for the another upgrade to the fort, to like a citadel or something and maybe a new skin, attack more than 1 thing, and has "race specific bonus's" like minutemen for 1 race and more attack for the other or...cheaper to build w/e
Maybe a age 5 unit for each unit type? navel, art, inf, cav, range etc.
Still love the mod, hope to see more from it :)

(The AI seems like a bit of a dud, but that is to be expected. It does not attack much late in the game. Looking at the recordings, I have noticed that the AI seems obsessed with collecting wood, sometimes having 45 out of 50 villagers chopping wood.)
Creativity: 5
(A mod about the civil war isnt exactly a new idea, but your mod is the only one that seems to work well. Good work!)
Art and Sound: 5
(The units look and sound the way you think they would.)
Installation/Instructions: 5
(The installer makes this so incredibaly easy. Being able to switch from the mod and the normal game makes the mod so much more useable. Thanks for making such a great installer!)
Story/Description: 5
(The scenarios and unit selection seem to fit the time period very well. The addition of war balloons was a nice touch.)
Additional Comments:
The mod is great, but I do have a few suggestions.
1. Increase the amount of resources in natural deposits. More food in animals and bushes, more wood in trees,(this is the big one. The trees go down so fast in the mod), and more gold in mines. With so many villagers, resources go very quickly, especially wood.
2.Reduce US and CSA troopers attack slightly. As they are, they completely destroy skirmishers that are supposed to beat them. Maybe lower the attack by 5-6 points?
3.Lower sniper attack so they dont slaughter artillery as much. They should still kill most units in 1 shot, so maybe lower their attack to 700?
4. Mines are a little bit too powerful right now. Lowering their blast radius and the damage they do would be an improvement. Also, if it is possible, add a system so you cannot lay mines while enemys are nearby. Maybe make it so mines cannot be laid while stealthed? Im tired of layinga long fused mine right where their army is standing, and kill them all for the measly cost of 150 wood. Also, mines should take much longer to setup. After all, it was a PRE-battle preperation.
5. Iroqouis longhouses can not build villagers. I assume this could be easy to fix?
6. Fronteirsman seem useless as is, since the are more expensive and weaker than US troopers. Maybe give them a bonus against cavalry or something?
p.s. On ESO, I am creating the NAT clan for anyone who wants to play this mod online. People should make seperate home cities for the mod though. If you or anyone else is interested, contact me on ESO, or simply say so here. :)

All right, after having briefly played a quick skirmish using this mod, It turned out to be a very enjoyable mod, However! There are a few things I would like to point out:
Flag Bearer: Displays just team colour on the flag, try to make it use the nation flag, makes it more fun and looks cooler.
Soldiers does not seem to take any population rate, is this a problem with the mod or is it something else? (like for example the latest version of AoEIII which I'm using now)
Union Soldiers: Seems to have a little too dark colouring, next time try to lighten it up somewhat (unless I'm mistaken)
I think that was all.
All in all I give this mod a 4.9 rating out of five. Keep up the good work and all that jazz.
*edit*
Remembered something else: the minor typos and the like, with the amount of quality this mod already has, please take the time to correct stuff like that, its not a problem per-se its more of an annoyance.[Edited on 06/14/09 @ 10:03 AM]
