First, let me say that this is my first scenario in AoE3 and I am really excited about sharing this with you. I used to make scenarios in AoC but it took me a while to upgrade. Anyways, without further adieu:
Against the Tide by Poindexter39
Story:
You are Jordan, a leader of your people in the war against the Chromonian Empire. The Chromonian Empire has always enslaved your people, killing you families, etc. Until now!!! It is the final showdown between you and the Chromonian Empire. Time to see what you are made of!!!
Description:
I don't necessarily want to call this a big battle but the beginning has a lot of troops but just for the opening cinematic so it may be a little laggy at first. Your goal here is to destroy the enemy HQ and commanding general. You have to do this while keeping Jordan alive and your 3 outposts from being destroyed. Due to bad weather, your reinforcements will not be able to find the battlefield without the outposts standing. Be Careful!
This scenario is somewhat tough. After 15 minutes, the enemy receives an enormous amount of reinforcements so you need to come up with a strategy quickly.
You lose when Jordan dies so keep him alive!!!
There are several cinematic scenes so enjoy!
You may need patch 1.11 to play.
If you find any bugs PLEASE email me at jclark8@gatech.edu
Hope you enjoy and look for the next scenario released by me at http://aoe3.heavengames.com/
Installation:
Cut and paste the jordan folder into 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\Sound'
Cut and paste 'Against the Tide.bak' and 'Against the Tide.age3scn' into 'My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Scenario'
Please let me know what you think. I plan to keep releasing scenarios, so input from you would only make them better!
Playability: 5
Immensely enjoyable scenario -- especially if you like being clobbered royally!
Balance: 4.5
I guess I should have made this a 5, because I eventually won against what seemed like overwhelming odds.
Creativity: 5
Super! Triggers worked flawlessly.
Map Design: 4
Y'know; I was so darned busy trying to stay alive that I really didn't have time to explore the map. I will comment on the veryrealistic-looking battle field, with a deep trench stretching from left-to-right (and usually full of my dead soldiers).
Story/Instructions: 5
It took me 2 tries (maybe 3?) before I grasped the two key elements of your instructions:
1. You only need to have one outpost for your reinforcements to find you.
2. If you play a defensive game, you will lose (BIG TIME!) -- and I never even had to wait for the 15-minute enemy reinforcements to arrive before I was totally wasted playing defensively.
Additional Comments: Some day I might play this scenario again -- I guess when I feel like getting my butt kicked & having to fight forward from the trenches.

I'm very glad you like it Cliff. I wanted it to be a short, hard and fast paced game so you could play it a few times before getting it right. I tried my best to keep the enemy coming and have reinforcements show up every minute. Unfortunately I had to make my own AI via triggers so I'm happy to hear that it apparently works. Thanks for making the time to review =)

Well, I really liked it very much. A big 5 from me. Anyway. I played a defensive game and I won without problems. I moved all my soldier to my middle outpost and I used volley formations. When the imperial guard arrived, I hade one cannon, a falconet. It was hard, and i lost much more than usual but still hade many soldiers left. Anyway. They were defeated and later on, i captured all the 12 heavy cannons, and with that extra firepower, there was really no problem eliminating their army. Slowly I moved my army towards their base, spotted their cannons, and killed them with my hussars. After that it was a piece of cake.
But seriously, a really good scenario. I think it's the best i've played. Great job.

I'm glad you like it. I think I might make another version of this for TWC. Thanks for your encouragement!

Wow. Great scenario. If you ever are tired of playing supremacy games this is the game to play. I love things like this. You should make some more. By the way playing defensive worked well for me. Just don't do it for to long trust me.

Everyone else seemed to like your scenario. I did not. Played it several times and most of the time it was over in 3 minutes or less. It seems too hard to me.
