City of Gold

johnboyz Deep within the jungles of the Amazon is rumoured to be a well-fortified, Spanish City of Gold. You control the US player (#5) and you must find the city and eliminate the Spanish to seize their gold. You have competition... the Dutch and the Portugese are also hot on the trail of this gold. To facilitate getting there first, it might be wise to "eliminate the competition" before turning your attention entirely to the Spanish and their gold.

There are many Incan villages that could be valuable allies in your endevours. Beware of renegade Tupis who are neutral to the Spanish but consider themselves to be your enemies.

It would help if I knew how to manipulate the AI and get the Spanish villagers do more but I'm afraid that that will have to be in my next life cycle. 8-)

Easy enough to play. I had no troubles figuring out which way to go for the gold. 8-)

Balance: 4
At first, I thought Spanish too powerful but soon found ways around them

I haven't seen other quite like this before

Larger than most and full of small things that make it look good.

Story?? Instructions are short, sweet and to the point, though.

I gave you a 3 Because: First I would like to say your map was an average map and was well thought out. Now a 3 was because there was no cin.(movie) at any time in the game. Movies make the game more fun to play and helps out with story line.

Also It would of been harder to play if I was attacked now and then but I was never attacked at anytime. When you give someone home city access make sure you give them something besides the basic. It brings down the playability. There are not many of us want resources, villagers, cannon, musketeers and a rocket. More verity would make this score go up.

Balance: 2
I gave you a 2 Because: Here is the thing when you are never attacked it makes it quite easy for any players level. Now on the other hand taking down the fort was fun. Wasn't the hardest thing i ever did but I still won it easy overall.

Creativity: 4
I gave you a 4 Because: OK this is where you did a good job. From the creative native villages. From the unique placements of objects. Like the supplies scattered over the map. I want to point out you could have put more though into your map and if you had more unique objects this would be a five. You had the right amount of treasures and trading posts.

Map Design: 3
I gave you a 3 Because: This was done OK. Why just OK you wonder will the map was to flat in my option. You did have high mountains but that's really all. Also did you know waves go to the shore line not away from it.
Some of the waves go away from the shore line. Don't know what you were going for there but don't look right. Now on a good note your blending of terrains was done well. Some were odd in some places. But over all was done well.


Story/Instructions: 2
I gave you a 2 Because: One there was no cin. (movie) at anytime which kills this score. You had nice chat and all triggers worked for your chat and objectives. But there just was not enough to keep me wanting to play.

Additional Comments:
OK I know I kinda riped this map apart. But I want You to know what is wrong with it the idea is great and I liked the map It was fun to play I want you to never give up on map making. You will get better with every map you make.

I have played this a couple of times and it worked well at multiple levels

Balance: 4
Balance was there considering you really have to set up a new base on the other side of the river. Maybe if you knew how to get the AI to transport units you'd get attacks on your starting side too. This is a problem I've noticed with ES maps of this nature as well.

Creativity: 5
A new look and idea

Lots of extras added! Do you suffer insomnia? ha!ha!ha!

Story: 3
I guess it doesn't really "need" a story since it's explained well enough on the download page.
