Unlimited Pop

Author File Description
Pugsley Simply change's the population cost of all units, so they all take up 0. No other changes are made, and Native's are still effected by their build limit. There is also a backup of the unmodded file included, which is required for multi player, unless the other player also has the MOD installed.

Installation:
Extract proto.xml to:
*root folder*\Age of Empires III\data

Uninstallation:
Extract backup.xml to:
*root folder*\Age of Empires III\data
and rename it proto.xml

ronaldinho9489 i have patch 1.05 and this doesn't work.can you help me
RatedA Umm...I opened the file with notepad but the only unit that I recognize is settler and suergon so I changed the 0.1 or 0,2 to 0 in population count.
First of all is that what u do?
And second where are the muskteers and dragoons and all the other good stuff?
RatedA And Also somehow I can't save the changes I made with notepad
RatedA Okay I actually found all the units after awhile and changed their 0.1 or 0.2 or 0.5s to 0.0. But then it didn't work when i tried it, so i tried doing 0, 0.00000, and some other stuff and it didn't work either.
So Im just wondering if you are supposed to put the proto in My Document-My Games-Age of Empires III- Data folder. Or is there anything that I am missing?
GGaius10 I tried the Unlimited Pop file but, it doesn't work. I still am limited to 200 population. I also know I extracted this to the correct folder so I know not what is wrong unless it was getting the latest AOEIII patch 1.5 or something like that. I tried changing the numbers myself but in Windows Explorer I can't get anything which needs changing to erase so I can replace it, and, if I use wordpad I get a computer language such as ANSI, UBCODE, etc., which cannot even be read much less changed. Can anyone help me.
GGaius 10
GGaius10 I've tried both ways Rated A the download which supposedly gives you an unlimited pop. and changing the data also and, so far neither of these works. I don't know how these other guys whom got this to work so well did it or, how the author of the program got what he did to work. Too bad for us I guess since the download and comments are pretty old and none of these people seem to be around anymore. Maybe if they were they could shed some light on what we're doing wrong. Luck to ya friend,
eddy420 can u do someting with selecting more then 50 people at the time
GGaius10 I finally found out to make the program actually work. I removed AOE III from my computer earlier tonight, then reinstalled it without adding any of the upgrade patches and, the population program seems to be functioning pretty closely to correct. At least better than before anyway. I started with a 0/3 which eventually moved to 0/6 and this was the population I was told I could support. Oh I had far more than six players at that time, closer to 150 I would say. I found that by building more houses which I previously had not done I could add to the population. So if you want it to work, you'll have to remove AOE 3 from your hard drive then, play without the patches. I'm uncertain if some of the earlier patches would work with the unlimiter or not but, I don't think I'll try it.

Spencerj I'm pretty sure this will work if you convert the proto.xml file using the file converter found in the aoe3ed package once it's in the data folder.
