The Great Dynasty

Author File Description
File Details
Game Version: AoE3+TAD
In 1644 the Ming Dynasty, under the leadership of the Chongzhen Emperor fell to a mix between a rebel army led by Li Zicheng and constant Japanese attacks in the north. In this scenario you play as Japan, storming the beaches and hopefully crushing the Ming Dynasty. Though it was Li Zicheng and his rebels who handed the final blow to the Ming Dynasty, we hope to change history a bit with the final blow coming from Japan.

This is my first scenario and I am very proud of it. I have added a Moderate version and a Hard version. I hope you enjoy, I am eager to hear reviews, good or bad!

Thank you very much for your review. I thought I would directly address a couple of your comments..

Originally the armies were a lot stronger for china, but I play tested three times and got decimated every time. So I cut back a lot on the original forces. I wasn't sure if it was becoming easier because I knew exactly what to do or if it was easier because of less forces.

I didn't even think about revealing the Wonders on the map, that is a good idea!

I am curious though as to why you put a three for map design. You said a lot of good towards map design but put a three, I'm curious as to what improvements I could make in that area.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my scenario. I hopefully will have more in the future and I might go back and fix the balance issues on the hard version so that it is more challenging.

Thank you once more,
KevTheGreat wasn't it the ‘å?´’éš  (Great Qing Empire) at that time?

i researched into this, and the ming dynasty collapsed around the mid 1600s, and the date given as the exact collapse was 1644. Then again, how much can you trust wikipedia?
KevTheGreat kk, also u should make the starting age not discovery age

i tried originally but it got really buggy, the villagers had the option to make a wonder for two seperate ages, it ended up not working out and i tried for a few hours to fix it and finally gave up and set it for discovery

Todd_Lang The reason I only gave map design a 3, was because it wasn't very big. However, the map was diffidently big enough for this scenario...Next time, just make it a little bigger, so you can build a town, as you couldn't build much in this scenario.

it is what I would classify as "historical fiction" Historically the Ming dynasty was destroyed by many things. Japan played a large part, but the final blow came from Li Zicheng a Chinese general who rebelled. He makes an appearance in this scenario if your army ever gets too thin. just a little easter egg for you... look up the chongzen emperor or the ming dynasty on wikipedia to get the full story for real/
