Game Version: |
AoE3 |
# of Players: |
2 |
This 1vs1 supremacy map is set on the shores of New England. With pirates nearby, the oceans arent safe to traverse right away.
Player 2 has a slight advantage, which was done on purpose because the host probably knows the map and player 2 probably doesnt. But it wont effect the game enough that the host cant win. It's still a fair game.
Please review and comment. I wanna know how I did. |

Playability: 3
Sup game play, I would have given you a 5 here but there is no victory/defeat trigger which is a major thing. This deserves a 3.5 but i decided to give you a 3.
Balance: 4
The starting positions were balanced, but player 1 had more space to build (not major wasn't accounted into the overall score). The problem here was the decks, all the European civs had no decks while the TWC and TAD civs had decks. Therefore they had a major advantage. EDIT: I changed this to a 4 since i didn't notice it was only for vinilla, you can choose to disable the civs via triggers though
Creativity: 3
A sup map with eye candy and uneven terrain, nothing special about this map. I also later looked at it in the scenario editor, your light settings are not working because u need to set the first one active, no loop, no run immediately, and the rest to have nothing else. The timer also seems a bit to fast, but that is your call. Lastly, use fire event instead of activate trigger, activate trigger seems to sometimes work and sometimes not. (The trigger faults were not taken account into the score)
Map Design: 4
Nice amount of eye candy and uneven terrain gave it a plus, however not enough for a 5 here
Story/Instructions: 3
No story or instructions or opening cinematic, would have been a 1 here if this wasn't a sup map, however you can still make a story on the map.
Additional Comments:
Basically a sup map. Main thing is to insert a victory/defeat trigger, and give decks to the European civs. Other than that not much to say about this map

Yeah sorry about all the problems. I'm actually an accomplished aom designer and havent hardly played aoe3 at all. But I made this to play with a friend back before you could make special stuff in editor and before any of the expansions. I didnt understand aoe3 editor all that well, so this was essentially me testing out the editor. I dont play aoe3, so I didnt realize that you have to make the decks in editor. I thought you could use ur regular decks for some reason. Obviously I realize now why you cant tho. I'll try to find time to make some fixes. Hopefully you'll re-review. |

You know i went in editor and kinda tried to work on fixing this... But I really cant find anything to fix. I dont see what the point in a victory trigger is since its just sup... and the night and day thing doesnt work at all anymore lol. (i actually forgot it was in there when i put this up) And tbh I dont know how to edit decks... =/ But it was meant to be played in original aoe3... Cuz i dont have the others. So i cant edit their decks. Sorry but I dont think I'll be changing it lol.
Oh and btw... you said in the playability description that you gave me a 4 but its only a 3.[Edited on 08/15/08 @ 10:14 PM]

"You know i went in editor and kinda tried to work on fixing this... But I really cant find anything to fix. I dont see what the point in a victory trigger is since its just sup... "
without a victory/defeat trigger u can't win or lose it since the game will not select a winner by itself
"and the night and day thing doesnt work at all anymore lol. (i actually forgot it was in there when i put this up)"
You can try and fix it, if u can't i can help
"But it was meant to be played in original aoe3... Cuz i dont have the others. So i cant edit their decks. Sorry but I dont think I'll be changing it lol."
i dind't notice it was only for aoe3 :P, i will fix the score, either way you can also disable the decks if you wish, or disable the expansion civs by using triggers and renaming the civs saying to not use the expansion civs.
"Oh and btw... you said in the playability description that you gave me a 4 but its only a 3."
kk will fix
