Gettysburg

Author File Description
tontonnoy In July of 1863, General Robert E. Lee's Army Of Northern Virginia of 75000 men and the 97000 man Union Army Of The Potomac under General George G. Meade met, by chance, when a Confederate brigade sent forward for supplies observed a forward column of Meade's cavalry. Of the more than 2000 land engagements of the Civil War, Gettysburg ranks supreme. Although the Battle of Gettysburg did not end the war, nor did it attain any major war aim for the North or the South, it remains the great battle of the war. Here at Gettysburg on July 1863, more men actually fought and more men died than in any other battle before or since on North American soil.

Thank you for the interesting and detailed reviews.
The map is too flat : I'm sorry !
I have never seen Gettysburg...
But I grew up around the battlefields of WW1 and WW2 (Sedan, Verdun).

@ plus !

Xvash2 You should read "The Killer Angels". It would help. I was expecting it to be the real terrain around Gettysburg.
mrrags1 A DUPLICATE POST IS UNDER 'INDIAN SPIRIT'

Hey Tontonnoy!!
Look at "current news" (dated 22 Jan) and down a little ways they have an announcement about a cinematic competition. Even if your designs don't win, it might be a great source of constructive advice on making your designs even nicer. Check it out... You have nothing to lose! 8-)
alphonze I live in Manassas Virginia and Gettysburg PA. II am not qualified to give you an evaluation like mrrags1 and Luke_Feanor. I am an older man and I have every AOE/AOK from the begining. I just wanted to add my comments to what they said. I lost an outpost right away and I stayed in the battle for about an hour until I finally had to quit. I was having fun even as frustrating as it was not to be able to build at least the lost houses. By the time I quit I was only able to support about 20 trooops and I was overtaken.
Great work on this project and I'll watch for more from you in the future.

sentry41 Hey, Manassas, cool!

I lived in Culpeper for several years which is probably what makes me have such an interest in CW maps; having been to all the battlefields in Virginia several times over.

cheers!
George
dietermoreno No screen shots so I don't know what to expect.

I'll download it any way because I love American Civil War.
