All right – Finally!
I have watched a Lot of these here from these pages (working my way from oldest page to newest) – and Finally here is one that was really a pleasure to watch – Just for the sake of sitting back and watching one for what it is… & yes, I think this is just what AoE III is ‘for’ and all about.
A good fight, both sides – great efforts…
It was nicely ‘balanced’ in the central elements – but, as it proved, Travis, in the end you were defeated by your own tactical ‘blunder.’
Fought like a true General of the old Tzarist guard tho’ – but you should have learned well, you can’t defeat field guns and heavy horse with infantry – and less-so with light infantry. The numbers matter nothing.
You lost a total of 784 units – and the vast majority of those were Streletys (light infantry) lost en mass to field guns & cut down by some well ordered Dragoon brigades.
All the fighting across the road was intense (both enjoyable & ‘painful’ to watch!).
You never produced adequate defense for your mortars, having seen for a long while in advance the enemy’s build-up and usage of Dragoons and field artillery (including a healthy supplement of culverins).
I kept ‘telling you’ (under my breath, hoping you would finally) – “Get some horse and some guns up there!” ..but of course, you never did and instead kept trying to forge a hammer out of glass (light infantry, light infantry, a few heavy infantry and more light infantry, etc).
This one ought have been a lesson in tactics for you that hopefully has served you well since. ;)
It was most enjoyable to watch, and I thank you for sharing it…
Best of fortune comrade!

ok, i saw your game. you are ok at microing. at the beggining, try to avoid berries and a near huntable, and DONT BUILD FARMS.build two block house as soon as possible, and send the 13 strelets, and keep your villiger production. balance it out between food and wood. alittle bit more vills on food. start spamming strelets, if you see you opponent have cavalry, start poping out muskets. and KEEP YOU VILLIGER PRODUCTION. thinking about advancing when you build like 30-40 strelets. finish oppents off with falconets. no perfect but you sould try it. does NOT WORK AT ALL AGAINST FRENCH!

So I saw only the first 20 minutes or so because it crashed, you both are good players but here are some things you missed(dont be offended):
-Well His attack on your hunters really slowed down you early food economy.
-HOUSES HOUSES HOUSES!!!!LOL
-It took you sometimes to long to assign idle setlers which also slow down your economy
-Concentrate Firepower.Especially with light infantry, you wanna kill one guy at a time!
-Explore and gather treasures, especially in the start
-No trading posts?? With all that wood in middle game you should have at least 2 of those.
-Did you have in you shipments some kind of "Settles gather faster in mills"? Because if youre going to concentrate that much on mills you better have em.
