If i offended you it wasnt my intention to do so.As for if you ever read this page again. I was asuming none ever read this since release dates of origonal/Expansions.clearly I was wrong.It has been five years since the origonal game was released and 2-4 years for the expansion's.I play against alot of european enemies so i never see them building walls but as you explained that native/asian civ's build walls.[Edited on 04/30/11 @ 08:39 PM]

hi Mandos.....hi everyone , i didn't play AGE for a long time but few days ago i did install it again and the first thing i vent here to check whats cooking :D . i have see that a walls regeneration is still an issue so i decided to try something with it . first i did try with names......didn't work , then i add a regeneration for an outpost and it worked right away . because of that i realized that names for walls parts aint enough so i go to my protoy and change wall parts characteristic with outpost ones , now it looks like this ;
PROTOY
WallStraight2 / WallStraight5 / CWallGate / CWallGateL / WallConnector ;
UnitType>LogicalTypeValidSabotage , UnitType>LogicalTypeHandUnitsAutoAttack and other outpost unittype lines . after that i went to a civs file and add all wall parts; unitregen , unittype WallConnector unittype , rate 0.05 rate , idletimeout 0.0 idletimeout . now walls do auto-repair . hm, interesting, and i though about it, never tried it though... if it works you have saved me once again, and i thank you.
still, this doesn't explain why walls auto-repaire on the recidide map... you know, the japanese map where you have walls, a castle and a regend from the beginning of the game, in that map the walls always auto-repaired...
extremely strange...
oh, and thank you for the ai walls tip! :D:D

Alen, i need your help on something...
i need to find the line which makes villagers not to be able to train in blocks, like military units do.
i want to change the way artillery trains, instead of being able to train them in blocks of 5, i want to make them train one by one, like villagers.
this would add more balance and realism to the game, i think.
so, what do you say, can you help me?
and if we are it... i am looking for another line...
when you have soldiers near ships, the selection box captures only soldiers. i want to do the same thing with villagers.
isn't annoying when you have military units and villagers mixed together and you want to select only the military units but villager are also selected... i want to change that but can't find the right codes.

will check tomorrow that "train in blocks" thing and for your second ? ; there is an option in game , maybe you miss it . it is in game options and it say ; enable easy drag military ( drag select will select only military units )
EDIT ; no need to wait till tomorrow , just add UnitType AbstractVillager UnitType along with others and that's it but i am not sure is there any side-effects when you do that !??[Edited on 05/07/11 @ 06:54 PM]

anyway, yes, it will be side effects, and i fear they will be big. messing around with 'UnitType...UnitType' is not a good thing when they come from two totally different units.
BUT, there is another way to do that. remember how russian military units train. i'l use the same thing on the artillery, but the number 1 will show on every unit's icon, and also there is a lot of editing in 'civs', a really lot...
unless... ships train the same way as villagers, one by one, maybe AbstractShip or whatever will work... and perhaps the consequences will be smaller...
