Storyline
Basically you are a dishonoured War Chief of Iroquois named Nikora Manukau you have been banished from your tribe, now you must kill at least 6 High War Chiefs from other tribes, since your in the forest you thought you'd start of with the Aztec Chief of the Forests.
In this scenario you have to follow the "green path" to the Aztec Forest Chief's colony, once there you must kill him and destroy the area so you can sail to a small tribe you know that will accept you.
WARNING - STAY OUT OF THE FOREST, MEANING KEEP AWAY FROM THE TREES! If you decide to walk of track and go into the forest you will most likely be destroyed by Forest Prowlers.
Have fun! Part 1 of 6 in this series. |

Verakka,
Your scenario is curious and somewhat enjoyably, but confusing. The following input is meant as positive input but, I do love to exploit maps like this (sorry).
First, you named your scenario "Nikora Manukau's Journey", but your download is entitled "Forest Hunter", creates a problem of mixing of titles so players have to be heads up to your title change.
Second, as several other scenario designers have been doing lately, you failed to switch back to player one, after testing, before uploading. Therefore, your scenario loads as player two, instead of player one. It's unplayable from the scenario file in it's current state.
I went into the editor and made the change and played your scenario. (for those who don't know how to do this, open the game site, click on "Help and Tools", next click on "Scenario Editor". When the editor opens click on "File", then "load Scenario". Locate the scenario and open it. At the top of the screen click on "Scenario" then "Playtest Scenario". Change "Test as Player" to player "1", set play level and then click "OK".)
Problems here...
-The treasures with the wolves and gold chest is a "broken treasure" you can't collect them even after you kill the guardians.
-The Aztec chief wanders, he gets killed by the Forest Prowlers half way across the map from his base.
You also have a "treasure" with a villager; I was able to build a Town center, resource enough to be able to build 25 Calvary and go "hunt" down the Forest Prowlers. That was fun!
I had so many Treasure guardians I could have wiped out all the Forest Prowlers without any other units.
Just for fun, I built 99 villagers and striped the map of wood, took a couple hours.
Last problem, after I eliminated all the "red" and "brown" guys there was no victory condition, which seems to be a problem with newer designers also.
Enjoyed your scenario, hope this input is of value to your next 5 parts of the series.
I await your next scenarios and will provide additional input.[Edited on 09/12/10 @ 10:24 PM]

Well your comment made me laugh lol, I didnt realize that I had all of those mistakes, I did know about the Villager one though (not a mistake)
Really sorry about the Aztec Chief thing I was sure I had disabled him. Anyway I have had alot of practice since this "old" scenario now I think I have two more that are better well structured but are basically just the old make your colony and kill what you can. The 3rd one is the best so far in my opinion. Thanks for the feedback, also I didn't think the whole different title thing was a problem but I'll remember that now. ;) |

Verakka,
I really didn't mean to imply the villager was a mistake, I just didn't know if you were aware a player could utilize it to develop a village, etc.
The wolves/gold chest treasure has been used in other scenarios, it's just noncollectable. Not you, just something wrong in that one treasure.
As far as the "different title thing", it only becomes a problem if you have multiple downloaded scenarios (50+ in my case). It becomes difficult locating a new "scenario" if it's not labeled with the title you're looking for and you have no idea of what it's new title is.
Why don't you upload both of your other scenarios. The feedback may provide you with useful input you could incorporate in your future scenarios.
Good luck.
