(*UPDATED*)Operation Overlord

Author File Description
SharpShooter99 I have resigned... Hopefully, if this is good and has a great rating and people really like WW2 on AoE 3, i will continue my campaign and make D-Day better than ever...

D-Day, 1944...

As the Allied Forces were stuck on the strategic map, the Allied Forces decided to set a full-scale invasion on the Normandy Coast...

mercenary11 As of now, Sharpshooter and I are in kind of a conflict. He posted this scenario and the other because he wants to see what you guys think, but he is also very stressed out about all this...this scenario and Operation Husky are both not completed but Sharpshooter wanted to see what you guys think as beta testers. I know this isnt the way to do it, but please dont be disappointed with the lack of care in these two scenarios as they were not planned to be distrubuted until later notice. If you dont want the surprise to be ruined DONT download it yet!

As this is also a beach invasion, if you do not want the surprise to be ruined, then do not play this yet. This was meant to be further in the WW2 Campaign, but SS has posted it up now in his frustration.

Thx...and convince SS to rejoin the Aoe3 WW2 Campaign! If you do play it...say good things! =) We all want you to come back sharpshooter...

I had no problems with lag, and my units didnt get stuck in the cords of wood, like they did in your Utah beach map, lol. I was able to destroy the fixed guns, and coastal deffenders.

Balance: 4
I think the Nazis were a bit too over powered. there should have been some little things here and there, like the weapons caches, destroy them and the corrisponding(sp) fixed gun(s) will be destroyed.

Creativity: 3
I liked the idea of pillboxes, and i used that same idea in a map that i made,(It wasn't about D day though) i thought the trenches were creative. You lost points because of the cords of wood, they just didnt do it, it didnt look all that realistic, and they sorta got in the way. maybe you could use the ruined Coloney thing if the cords represnted debris. The grass and sand made it look like i was in the Caribbean, and not Normandy, France lol. Also the corpses are al facing one direction, remeber that not everyone dies facing the same way.
Map Design: 4
The map design was excellent. I liked how you brought the forts to ground level, with the cliff tool. im not sure what the river in the back is for though. was the island in the south Great Britian? seems auful close, but i can understand if you need that sapce for pop houses, or you could have used the open space in the back.

Story/Instructions: 5
They were very clear to me and i was able to achive the objectives.

Additional Comments: Make More WW2 / ww1 maps. if ES got a hold of this, they'd make a ww2 aoe lol, maybe. I hope that you continue to make maps like these because they are entertaining.
Danny84PwnzAll This is one of my favorite scenarios, but I had to mention one bug.... You can move ur hot air balloon over a fixed gun near their base and capture it. Then it's just a matter of tasking it on their command post.
