A Few Random Choices

Author File Description
Goblin5 This is just a short test scenario to release while a larger on is in development. As you wander through the old west with Gunny you are given a number of choices to make that will alter the game. This game can be played at least 4 times with different aspects. Its not over developed just a smaller map to play with a few things. Hope you all have some fun!

Ok so posting on valentines day took a massive effort on my part to sneak past the gf, so I hope a few people make the effort to try this out and post some quality feedback for it. Have fun people. Later
Map Design5.0
Playability: 5
Tons of fun I played it 6 times to see what was different. A larger map would offer even more options so go for it.

Balance: 5
No reloads due to attacks, You called it a simple little map, I think, and thats how it played. Didn't take very long but I didn't think you were looking for that.

Creativity: 5
blew me away, I've never played a game like this one. Your trigger work was fine.

Map Design: 5
As with your other maps Goblin this map was great, I never got lost in a empty area, or didn't know where to go next.

Story/Instructions: 4
Only area lacking, I know this was a test of sorts for a larger map of the same concept but I would have liked a little more story line.

Additional Comments:
I would play another version of this with a larger map. Are you working on any cinematics for this at all?
Great little game

It was easy enough to play but I had no idea what I was supposed to do or what the objectives of the scenario were. This game is like your last and it's still necessary to resign in order for the game to end.

Balance: 1
Very easy since I "won" and still have no idea what I did to win.

Creativity: 3
This is where you get do well

Map Design: 3
Average map design. Nothing special! Don't get me wrong, it was not bad at all; just average.

Story/Instructions: 1
Story? Instructions?? Where were they? I had no clue what I was supposed to do on the map. I had explored less than half of the map and was told "I was victorious." What did I do??

Additional Comments:You have some great ideas!!

This game followed the old choose your own adventure games perfectly, great game

Balance: 5
no brainer, its one way or the other, and both choices offered quality mini games etc.

Creativity: 5
totally the best scenario I've seen creativity wise so far in here.

Map Design: 5
Small but fun, I am looking foreward to a larger version

Story/Instructions: 5
I didn't need somebody to hold my hand on this one, its all story, just made up as you go.

Additional Comments:
I don't think some people understand the way these games are set up. 1st you don't get to play the whole map. 2nd, Nobody holds your hand through the game you have to figure it all out on your own.
This game rocked Goblin5...more please, only bigger.

Playable but is lacking in any real substance. What is going on?? Regardless, what BHEworker (smurf?) may think... there is NO "perfect game"... they ALL need improvement in areas. This game is no exception!

Balance: 1
Far too simple and easy. Check out the guidlines for review!!

Creativity: 3
Bravo!!! Very nice idea and you were able to keep the language suitable for all ages! 8-)

Map Design: 3
you might wish to give some pointers on map design to some NOOBS in scenario design forum as you continually excell in design and creativity.

Story/Instructions: 1
having a story... giving instruction is NOT "hand-holding." it is honest consideration that people of ALL levels and experience are playing these games. Again... Check out "guidelines for REVIEWS!!"

sentry41 Not going to give a review score because you said right off that it's a test scenario for a larger one, so I take that to mean you're testing the mechanical nature of things more than if people like it or not, and it doesn't seem fair to me to put a score on a preview for an incomplete product.

With that said... I'll address the usual areas just to give you my thoughts as you develop the other.

Most things worked for me, but I was a little lost on what I was supposed to be doing. I did not have to resign, I won, but really don't know how I won. When the screen says "Victory" I usually don't argue. :)

Balance: Easy. I hate running around with one guy for fear he'll get creamed but it was still easy.

Creativity: Very creative. I like the idea of making something where choices actually impact multiple aspects of the game. Very good idea!
Not something I'd play everyday, but still very good.

Map: I like it, has obstacles, water and a hidden harbor sort of area that I like. Would really be cool if it could be made much larger.

Story: This was a test. When you finish the real one, don't forget to make some instructions and story so folks have an understanding of where they're going and what they're doing.

Comments: Again, cool idea. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Fun:I specially like the dialogues (as in your former scenarios)
Balance: 4
I know it's a test scenario, but it could be a little harder.
Creativity: 5
A lot of splendid ideas: great what you develope from AOE3
Map Design: 5
Allways something new to discover,no boring areas.
Story/Instructions: 4
Enough to have fun.
Additional Comments:
I'm looking forward to find new "Gunny"-scenarios
here, as I enjoyed all before. Carry on !

fun but as Sntry pointed out this was a test so I guess it doesn't matter if we kow what we're doing as we play along

Balance: 1
No real balance. All of the sudden I got a victory message. What did I accomplish to get this?? Just curious...

Creativity: 3
The idea of having choices is great but if we don't know the objective....

Map Design: 3
nicely done

Story/Instructions: 1
No story or instruction. What are we doing?? Will you have more once your 'test' is complete?

Additional Comments:BHEworker, WherestheBeef, et al you are being reported... see ya later!
Please keep trying Goblin! Your idea are creative and fresh.

mrrags- thanks for acknowledging the the fact that this was a test scenario, I guess nobody reads the info in the fourm pages so if I decide to bother with putting up the full sized version I guess there will have to be several pages of what to do info. I must be too old, it seems people aren't sure what a choose your own adventure is. Anyway, whatever issues you have with people on this site once again, I DEMAND it not be done all over my scenarios. You and your buddys go fool around somewhere else.
NAT All smurf reviews and unjustified reviews have been removed. Pleace be civil guys and goblin5, please don't review your onw scenerio, I can see IP addresses!

mrrags, your email has been passed onto me, you can contact me at ar_taylor@hotmail.co.uk
