XqMDpX,
Your scenario was pretty easy to beat after the player built up resources and aged up.
A few unscaled ships and your ships and secondary base was history. Then it was simply eliminating the blocking ships and taking out the forts etc.
It was fun stuff for about an hour...
It would be about 2.8-3.0 if rated...

Having just finished MarineFort and Pirates, I agree with TT. Also, it's a beautiful map. I like scenarios that use a navy.
I would like to make one suggestion. You give away all the resources I need to finish the game, and the enemy doesn't attack or build anything. So I don't have to defend, and I don't have to build an economy. I find scenarios more interesting when I have to do more than knock everything down. I would like your scenario better if I had to defend myself, or find the resources I need to win, or both.
I hope my comments are useful to you.[Edited on 12/10/10 @ 02:51 AM]

aoetree,
You had me going, thinking I had really had a beer too many. What you said didn't match my experience with this scenario. I replayed it and I think you have this scenario confused with another scenario. I think you confused this with "The invasion of California". The upload name was "invasion of the pirates"
Did you start out dealing with about 4-6 big guns?
First, the title is right on, unlike some newer titles downloaded (such as "The invasion of California"/"invasion of the pirates"), who fail to maintain the same title.
Second, You don't receive unlimited resources, but you do get alot of resources laying around.
Next, I timed it, it took me 40 min. to beat it, and only lost one ship and the hero down.
You may want to recheck which scenario you were playing.

My mistake. I confused this scenario with one called "The Invasion of the Pirates". Thank you TT for pointing it out. I will play the correct scenario this time and then edit my earlier comment. |

aoetree,
I appreciate your update of the scenario...I just wish you had edited it my adding your edit on as additional dialogue to your original post and not remove your original input so other game players would understand the progression of the discussion involving this scenario. Not a big deal, but it does create somewhat of a vacuum for others who may be reading scenario comments after our input changes.

XD, you asked for comment from players, and I qualify for that.
I regret that I can't help you about how to create a more active opponent. Just a suggestion, but you could study other posted scenarios that manage to do it.

I liked the idea behind the scenario, and the few surprises here and there. On the other hand, way too easy once I built up, and the ending was far too abrupt. |
