Shipwrecked

Author File Description
zeteter
File Details
Game Version: AoE3
# of Players: 2
Each player finds himself shipwrecked in the new world. One has met his fate among the rocky coast and the other has forced his small sinking ship to shore far up an inland river. Rocky bluffs and dense forest prevent either player from direct contact by land, yet the river offers each the vulnerability of direct attack by ship. This is my first custom map. Please review if possible. Thanks.

Please do me a favor and clue me in on anything you think I have done wrong or needs improvement. I plan to expand on my skills so I can offer up some real great custom maps. Thanks!

Playability: 3
Quite a fun map to play.

Balance: 4
Very good, players of all levels will appreciate it.

Creativity: 3
An interesting idea that is a refreshing change from most nomral maps.

Map Design: 3
The map looks stunning, it looks very realistic and it presents good challenges when building the colony. However, you can still land troops near an opponents towncentre and both sides of the map are very balanced, so there is no motivation to explore enemy territory early on in the game. It is easier just to build a huge economy an army and then just land troops on the other side of the cliffs, near the enemy TC and overwhelm them.

Story/Instructions: 2
None, but it does not really require one.

Additional Comments:
An interesting map, but the way the water is painted removes the great naval battles promised, it functions like any map with islands. Perhaps if you were to forbid caravels and other transport ships, or raised the river banks, it might solve this as it is possible to land troops anywhere on the map.
zdss I have a question. One of my friends asked me if you could make a 2v2 or 3v3 or 4v4, and, of course we still want the 1v1. My question is that can u make it in TAD? TY
ZDSS
zdss Another thing I was wondering is, is this for LAN and/or ESO? Because I have the latest patch and it says I don't have a custom map. Also, if I play against the computer the AI does not do anything. So that's all for now.
