These are all three very enjoyable viewing.
As British, your early failure to recon the enemy’s area – and the later failure to scout out their actual position seems to have been a ‘fatal handicap.’
I can’t but wonder whether if you’d seen and been aware of it, whether you might not have assembled some horse (even a small brigade?) – and done some raiding in their farmlands to buy some time and distract their attention to their ‘rear?’
A dozen (expendable) Hussars could have presented them a serious headache.
They and Isabella in the Rockies were relentless in bringing up masses of heavy guns.
Scary stuff! ..you handled it all quite well.
Your victory in the Rockies particularly was just impressive. It looked beyond all hope numerous times.
