We both a lot of errors and his early musk production rendered my natives useless for raiding. He boomed up and enjoyed a nice economic advantage for the entirety of the game and my terrible herding had me hitting fortress way too late. I lost my fort as I tried to seal a victory by dropping it way too close and way too early. I figured I could block him from getting a Lakota post but he never went for one anyway. In the end, I was saved once by my Mamelukes, another time by my Lakotas as I kept him from massing, but a poor maneuver left me with almost no cavalry power, not a good spot to be in against a Brit. Losing my cavalry put me at a 100 point disadvantage to him (although that was nothing too new for me this game) and then he started to take down my most (maybe too) forward Town Center and earn himself a few more herds. To make it worse he dropped a fort, forcing me to leave the herd in the "No Man's Zone" between our bases. I'll let you enjoy the rest from there.
I added this one because I wanted to show the true impact of poor herding and lack of early pressure, especially against a big booming civilization like the British.
Nice game! The brit out-boomed you but failed in military, a position I'm often in. I see the whole game the brit needed hussars but he made very few and never upgraded them. What's more he played most of the game with about 4000 food unspent, so it wouldn't have been hard for him to switch to hussars + musk/lbow. Also early game you probably could have pushed with your mass of cassadors (he had musks) but I don't blame you for not risking it.

And I was considering pushing at that point but I usually don't. I find that with this particular strategy the longer the game runs the more likely you are to win. I was worried he would make those 5 hussars and destroy me (cassas die like flies) and I knew that with my three town centers I would be pumping out villagers fast enough to catch up to even a British boomer. I never noticed his 4000 unspent food and I don't know why it never reached the battlefield.

Yeah I can't remember if he had trouble securing gold mines or not, but he definitely should have had more troops out with that unspent food. Maybe he was a little bit resigned to losing after he lost his muskets and cannons though. I think he should have attacked your units not your town centre. but he probably would have lost his army regardless because of TC fire and your unit production was faster than his. I will definitely watch the other recs when I have time.
Personally I don't like using cannons too much as they like to attack buildings and like to pack up or stay unpacked and generally do the opposite of what you want them to.
