Author File Description
File Details
Game Version: AoE3
This scenario shows you a 13th century war.13th century is ottomans first years. So in your army you have just hussars,Cavalry Archers,Spahis and Mamelukes.

-Huge armies
-Day,Midday and night lightings

Note:There are some lag,but it is not a problem I hink.

I'll make three or four scenarios about ottomans.Next scenario will about Ottomans rise (15th Century)

Playability: 3
Well at least you can win this time, theres objectives and the scenario is winnable, but its hard, theres tons of walls backed by crossbowmen you gotta plow through. And you have no cannons.

Balance: 1
Its tough, all you have are horsemen and a few foot soldiers, you are against lots of walls protecting a lot of crossbowmen which you have to get through to complete your objective.

Creativity: 3
I like ottoman maps but this could have been executed a bit better.

Map Design: 1
The map was rather hideous, a terrible mix of terrains tons of default grass trees not matching the map, terrain splattered carelessly. And its all just flat, theres no actual terrain changes.

Story/Instructions: 3
You can know whats going on but it could use some more embellishment, the articulation is sporadic at best.

Additional Comments:
This isn't what early Ottoman and Byzantine clashes looked like. Before the Ottomans had their first professional soldiers, the janissaries, the Ottoman legions were all tribal soldiers and mercenaries, and certainly no German Landsknecht! Early clashes between them would have either been raids by the ottomans or open field battles no sieges for a long time and especially not by a bunch of horses. They weren't all horsemen, the probably had some probably a lot of tartars from northern Armenia and a lot of swordsmen, bowmen, and some arquebuses.

It was hard to broke walls when there is no cannons. And that times crossbowmen protect walls. In 13th century there was no cannons !So it was too hard to conquer towns which is covered walls. So I made it hard, but it's possible ...

You're right about Landsknecht,but there is no Ottoman swordsmen in game.So I add Landsknechts.Look game,is there any tatars,ottoman swordsmen,bowmen ?!
ArthusFTW This still isn't how the battles where fought between them, because they knew they couldn't take on the great Byzantine fortresses most of the time, they built battering rams when necessary and took massive amounts of land by harassing logistics. In Nicaea, Osman I built several smaller fortresses around the city and blockaded them into near submission, the hordes of Ottoman tribal warriors decimated the hungry and tired Byzantine soldiers that emerged and ransacked the city. In no battle would there have been cavalry archer vs. wall.
Hasib fntsywaror Good (funny) argument
