We don't care if these are your 1st or 101st, the important info is a description of the maps - tell people about the map features and why they should bother to download and play these maps.

I enjoyed the Pine Forrest map, very well done. The evening setting adds to the ambiance. I like the concept, a trade route set in a valley lined by forest.
However, I have a few problems as well. The map is too small. Playing 1 on 1 the two town centers encroach upon the middle, which is a point both sides seek to control. The play becomes one dimensional once a fort is placed in the center.
With a larger map, spread out trading posts and native villages, the valley route is still important but not critical.
I would increase the elevation of the surrounding terrain, adding to the forest valley look. I think you want to make a sneak attack via a forest route difficult, but not impossible. A few more mines would be nice. And, increase the size of the map.
Otherwise, it looks great, well done. I will play the other map later tonight.

It is very minor but "great plains" is not a proper map type in the map "Pine forest". There is no space. It should be "greatPlains". I know it is confusing because "great plains" is the proper lighting. Errors like this cause the debugger to interrupt the load process. If you plan to make more random maps you might try using the debugger. Put +debugRandomMaps in the user.cfg file.

How do you change the lighting on the Ramdom Maps?
