UPDATE 2 (11/15/2005): Updated land with better grass mixes, forest mixes, more eye candy, etc.
UPDATE 1 (11/11/05): Fixed "moving bird" issue. The scenario now includes flocks of moving geese, ducks, and moving single birds. Also used the new Pitch Editor to change the pitch and zoom defaults. (Great little program that.) I have also created a thread of screen shots on the AOE III Heaven's Scenario forum:
NEW ENGLAND BATTLEFIELD SCREEN SHOTS
http://aoe3.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=ct&f=12,26483,0,10
DESCRIPTION: It's about a thriving English colony on the New England coast that is pitted against French settlements and their Huron allies in the interior.
This is a rich custom map with lots of triggers and objectives and two trade routes.
STRATEGY: The fighting is fast and furious, and the player has to use all of their skills to survive and drive the French and their Indian allies off the map.
Two Trade Routes, one for the English, and one larger one deep in the wilderness for the French, need to be controlled. Numerous Indian Settlements, if allied with, can also help. The use of your navy can be very helpful in the large finger-lakes area.
EXTRAS: The scenario includes a DDT scenario loader screen that comes up during the loading/start and gives a map overview.
INSTALLATION: The DDT file goes into a sub directory of the main program directory. Unless you told it otherwise when loading the program, that will be under "Program Files" on your "C" drive at the following location
c\program files\microsoft games\Age of Empires III\art\ui\singleplayer
Put the DDT file in there.
The .AGE3SCN file (the scenario itself) goes into a directory that AOE III sets up under your "My DOcuments" directory at this location:
My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Scenario
Put the .aoe3scn file in there.
If the directory under My Documents does not exist yet, simply go into the AOE III editor and create a blank scenario (name it whatever you want) and the game will create that directory for you, after which you can load the scenario file in there.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks Ywa. I just updated the scenario with a DDT scenario loader screen. Makes it a little nicer. |

Also, for all of those interested, this is a good scenario for those wanting to learn how to get their computer civs to work.
It has the AIStart objects, the StandardAILoader, and the CW and TC Spawning elements that allow for the computer civs to interact well in the game. In this one, they build on the trade routes and the indian trading posts very well. Also build ships and fish and fight on the water.
If you get a chance, download it, call it up in the scenario editor and check out how I did it by looking at the triggers and the map...also, if you have suggestions for improvement or easier ways...please let me know. |

Thanks Weeda...I will. The Editor and engine are great for building scenarios and I will probably create some historically based ones in the future. |

Lifereloaded, here are the directions on where to put the two files, the DDT graphics file and the age3scn scenario file.
The DDT file goes into a sub directory of the main program directory.
Hope that helps. |

How do you change the settings (easy-Hard), etc? I don't see any way to change the setting before I load the scenario. |

This was the most amazing map I've ever played for any game. It was nearly the perfect map. Just so full and dense, I gotta say I really enjoyed playing this map and hope you come out with some more maps soon. |

Stratrekman: I think those talking about this must be calling it up in the scenario editor and play testing it there. You have the choice of setting the difficulty there. I am also looking to set those controls someway so the user can do so when playing it as a custom scenario. |
