Here's my movie for the liquid cinema movie contest which seems to have flopped. It's 10 minutes and is about 2 woodsmen who find a body in the river. I ran across some strange bugs when I made it, but its not bad. :p

Umm, I know people who had no problem with it, so it's not bugged or anything. Just put it in your my documents/my games/ age of empires 3/ scenario folder and then run the game and click custom scenario.. |

You need to insert music into this to make it better :p. Spencerj to use newer scenarios download the newest update for aoe3, or it won't work right.[Edited on 05/24/06 @ 04:53 PM]

Good work Shaw DA MAN. The cinematic played very nicely. All of the camera tracks ran smoothly and the units didn't get stuck or anything. Hope to see more cinematics and/or scenarios from you.
Balance: 4
Hmm, I don't really know how to review the balance since this is a cinematic and not a playable scenario. But, everything was nice and smooth and I liked the battle scene torwards the end. So, I'll just give you a 4 since that's what I gave the other categories on average.
Creativity: 4
The Adventures of Clark Jackson was pretty creative. The storyline was nice and I like how you used the animations (ex: old man sitting). However, many of your trigger work was average. What I mean by this is just that the cinematic didn't really introduce anything fresh and unique.
Map Design: 3
The Map Design was average. You had some neat areas like the river, but I know that you are capable of so much more in the way of map design. You should have used some sky-boxes in the cinematic. After all, you are the Eye-Candy King. ;)
Story/Instructions: 5
The story was very nice. And, you used a lot of great dialog. I liked how you faded the cinematic at parts and how you used the set overlay to introduce new scenes. (Forgive me if you don't call the yellow letting an overlay, I'm used to AoM).
Additional Comments:
Keep up the good work Shaw. Next time, add a little more eye-candy and add some music. But overall, it was a very enjoyable cinematic.
Mind if we add this to the Lucky-Zion Theatre? |

Just review how well the cinematic ran, and things such as that. |

(Good job on this Shaw. I was entertained with the story and many of your camera angles were done well. The camera tracks ran smoothly, although they seemed to be for funtion only. Not very many "movie" like tracks. One that was "movie" like, was the enemy on the cliff. The camera cut to that scene was superb. I would have liked to have seen more "artistic" direction like that one.)
Balance: 3
(I scored this average. Again, while the tracks ran smoothly, the fact that they were on timers seemed to bring a few of the animations and camera tracks out of sync. And sometimes, even if they were in sync, they just lasted for to lengthy a time. One area that struck me wrong was when the main characters were in the stockade, and they were the only characters doing anything. There were guards in the area, but they were just standing around.)
Creativity: 3
(I will go back to the trigger work and camera direction again in this rating. Nothing really special here. All the triggers being on timers...well, I've covered that.)
Map Design: 3
(Pretty average map design. Very little terrain elevation or variation. Even the flora was lacking in very much variation. Lots of trees, but very little else for embellishment. I did like the river areas. Seemed like you spent more time there.)
Story/Instructions: 5
(I loved the story. The dialogue was original and captivating. I really loved the open ended closing of the story. I liked the drama of the whole experience.)
Additional Comments:
After reading over my review, it seems to be a bit harsh. But I know that you want honesty. Overall, this was an entertaining experience for me. I hope you do more. |
