Campaign Walkthrough: Indian
-
- Second Mission
You start with a small bunch of units and can't replace them for the time being, so don't waste your units in vain - try to avoid combat whenever possible. Don't bother with the treasures either. You can take pretty much any route to the command post, but as always, the one with least combat is the longest route. Stick to the edges of the map - there's a castle in the southeastern part of the map, but don't be intimidated by it, as you can walk by it.
Once you reach the command post, start building your economy. Send a unit shipment or two, depending on which cards you took. Start sending wood shipments again, so that you can get your economy working. You'll get attacked from pretty much all directions, so have an army in both north and south sides of your base. The trick in this scenario is that every enemy unit is anti-infantry. So don't train any more of those - go for a few camels and then mahout elephants. You don't have to leave your base, for now, build a rice paddy for food and keep getting those elephants. Getting a brahmin healer is a good idea. It allows you to heal your expensive elephants. While the healing is slow, they'll still last longer against small groups of units.
Enemy units have good powerful siege attacks, so keep watching your minimap so you won't lose buildings. Keep that command post standing! Growing your economy will be difficult, since resources are scarce and the enemy will raid continuously, so compensate with getting economy ugprades too. Once you have 2 elephants at each front, start building a castle and keep producing mahouts. You're aiming at getting like 4 mahouts and 2 siege elephants, while keeping your base defenses up.
Once you have the army gathered, start by cleaning one front at a time of enemy barracks. Once your mahouts get injured, send them back for healing and send fully healed ones back to the fight. If you have a 50-60 villager economy gathering only food and wood, you should be able to get so many mahouts that you can sweep the map even with mahouts. Some places on the map generate enemy units even without barracks, so don't let your base defenses down. It doesn't matter where you start destroying the barracks, there are eight of them on the map completely scattered - you'll have to explore pretty much the whole map.
Age up to industrial if you want. It isn't necessary, since the enemy can't access advanced units and your mahouts counter them. Once the final barracks goes down, you've won.
