Campaign Walkthrough: Indian

  • Indian Campaign (8 KB)
  • Third Mission

Several fights break out once the scenario starts. Aim first at the pikemen and hussars, because some of the musketeers will change sides and you don't want to be killing your potential friends. After you dispatched the initial units, you'll gain control of the base. Send some unit shipments, as you don't have yet the economy to build many units locally. Start taking out the trading post. The enemy will be gathering near your base, but with some hit and run you can start taking them out in small groups. Beware of the falconets though - it's often a good idea to send some units near them, so that they can attack the cannons in melee.

Economy is the key in this scenario - you should start your economic growth fast. Take out the nearby units and gather treasures and upgrade your sepoys. Invest in the gurkha upgrade too, you'll need them to to be able to deal with redcoats and other musketeers. The enemy will attack periodically, mostly with hussars, muskets and falconets. Gurkha+Zamburak works rather nicely, but sepoys are a good thing to have as well. Zamburaks are useful for taking out hussars and artillery.

Research all market upgrades and build a second town center while building villagers constantly. Start preparing to attack in east. Get a sizeable number of sepoys, gurkhas and a few siege elephants. Don't neglect your base defenses either. Your objective is to go into the cave in the east, where the enemy has a gunpowder storage. There will be musketeers, some cavalry, a couple of falconets and towers there to guard the entrance. Try to fight the units out of the falconets' range. Use the siege elephants to destroy the towers, then the falconets and finally the gate. There are some units waiting for you and not much room, so enemy falconets will deal massive damage. It may be a good idea to build a barracks or two near the cave entrance, so that you can replace your losses. In the cave, take out one of those storage buildings and the place will blow up. There's nothing to do in the caves anymore, so move your units (from your base as well) to the enemy front gates. It's a good idea to also build some military buildings, like a couple of barracks, a caravanserai and a castle nearby.

The resistance will be rather tough, so before you go charging in, have your siege elephants take out the towers, the fort and the gate. In case the enemy comes to break your siege and has artillery, use the siege elephants to take them out. Otherwise your army should be able to deal with them. Once the gate is down, move your army in and have your siege elephants start taking down the command post immediately. Don't stop until it is down, unless there is artillery around, because when it falls, you've won the scenario.
