Iroquois Units

The following units have been confirmed by Ensemble Studios or guessed to be part of the Iroquois army. The images of the units have are from screenshots but may or may not be 100% correct. If you think we have missed something or that something is incorrect on this page please email us. Thanks!

The Iroquois army will be largely comprised of infantry, with the Tomahawk Warrior as the mainstay of their forces. Available to the Iroquois is a light cannon artillery unit for anti-infantry and siege purposes, and a battering ram unit useful for heavy sieging.

  • Aenna

  • Aenna (4 KB)
  • Light Infantry
  • Similar to a crossbow, the Aenna is a bow and arrow unit. It will be effective against heavy infantry such as pikemen. The difference to the Crossbowman is that the Aenna will only cost food.
  • Canoe

  • Iroquois Canoe (4 KB)
  • Naval Unit
  • The Canoe unit will comprise the Iroquois navy. It looks like it will be the same canoe unit that is already in the game. Ensemble Studios have stated that there will be a way for the small canoe to counter a large European navy.
  • Forest Prowler

  • Forest Prowlers (5 KB)
  • Infantry
  • Not much is known about the Forest Prowler, except that it is anti-Infantry and has a special "Stealth Ability." Many think this ability lets them be invisible on the mini-map when not attacking or for a certain amount of time.
  • Iroquois War Chief

  • Iroquois War Chief (5 KB)
  • WarChief
  • This unit is what looks like what will be the Iroquois WarChief unit. It will have a melee attack. It will also have the ability to 'convert' treasure guardians, an ability which will likely replace the 'Crackshot' attack of the European Explorer unit.
  • Kanya Horseman

  • Horseman (4 KB)
  • Heavy Cavalry
  • The Kanya Horseman will be the Iroquois' counterpart to the Hussar. A melee cavalry that will counter light infantry and will be good for raiding.
  • Light Cannon

  • Light Cannon (5 KB)
  • Artillery
  • The Light Cannon is similar to the Falconet, however its looks make it seem it may be a tad weaker.
  • Mantlet

  • Mantlet (5 KB)
  • Infantry/Siege
  • The Mantlet will be and effective siege unit for taking down buildings. It also has a fairly decent ranged attack. Like the Tomahawk, it will be better than the current Mantlet presently in the game.
  • Musket Rider

  • Musket Rider (5 KB)
  • Light Ranged Cavalry
  • The Musket Rider will be a mounted musket unit; a ranged cavalry unit similar to the European Dragoon. It will be effective against other cavalry.
  • Ram

  • Battering Ram (3 KB)
  • Siege
  • Like Battering Rams in Age of Empires II: Age of Kings, the Ram will be effective in taking down buildings. When population and cost efficiency is taken into account, it will do damage just as well as mortars. The only change is, it will not be from range.
  • Tomahawk Warrior

  • Tomahawk Warrior (4 KB)
  • Heavy infantry
  • The Tomahawk Warrior is similar to the Iroquois Tomahawk already in the game. There is a difference though, the Tomahawks' stats will be increased so the warrior will not die quite so easily. The Tomahawk throwing unit is similar to the Musketeer in that it will usually be the base of the Iroquois army.
  • Travois

  • No image available (7 KB)
  • Unit/Building
  • The Travois is similar to the Outpost, Fort and Factory buildings in that it starts as a wagon and unpacks to create a building. The Iroquois start with two Travoises, which can unpack to create various Discovery Age buildings such as a Longhouse, Firepit, Dock, Market, Farm, or War Hut.
