Here is how.

Make a backup of your AOE3 directory before beginning. (I didnt, but who knows what could go wrong for you).

Patch the game to 1.12.

Then, use "setup /a" like you did with the original AOE3 , enter a path (you will have to move all the files whatever you choose where you want them to be, so dont use your AOE3 directory) and press install.

After installation, just move all the new files and directories from the directory you choose in the installation process (you may have to dig under "nameyouchoose\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empire 3\") to your main AOE3 directory. Accept to overwrite all the existing files.

Create a shortcut on your desktop for the file age3y.exe.

Then find the file IPHLPAPI.DLL (use google), its not a W2K file and Asian Dynasties needs it. Put that file in the main AOE3 directory (it is not a crack, you will still need the original CD to play the game).

Now start the game using age3y.exe or the shortcut you just made, enter your CD key and Voilą !

I tested escarmouche and a few Lan games and everything works perfectly.

Cya at next add on .

Did you have any problems patching to version 1.12 on win2k? I recently got the game. While it installs fine (using the /a option) and runs ok without any patch (played a few levels to be sure), the patch causes all kinds of problems with it.

I inserted the registry key for SetupPath as suggested.

First off the patch doesn't work running the compressed exe. This could be a w2k error?

If I extract the contents of the downloaded patch and run just the patch exe, it seems to do it's job. But then when I run the game executable, I get a problem with some "RtlIpv6AddressToStringA" in ntdll.dll, and it fails to launch.

Anyone got a bone to throw me?

I followed all of your instructions (I updated to version 1.12 previously), but I too recieved the "RtlIpv6AddressToStringA" error after clicking the new age3y.exe icon.

What can I do to get this to work?
