Well I'm assuming that the warranty doesn't cover water damage.

My suggestion:

Don't tell them its water damage. If they repair it: great! if not, you're no worse off than you were before.
Water damage is irreparable.
It depends on what fried. PCs are modular enough that you can just replace parts. The issue becomes how many parts are damaged and what is the cost to replace.

Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs?
Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar?
Not one now, to mock your own grinning?

tell them water spontaneously generated inside the computer through no fault of your own.

you could try taking it to geek squad and letting them open it, good luck with your warranty if you do that
We wouldn't open it. We'd send it off and the manufacturer would decide if it's water damage. Most of the time there will still be liquid residue somewhere.

hi5

Can you do the Double Yoda?
A sexual move, where you do a double backflip, insert your penis into the orifice of choice, and scream, "Afraid are you?"

So, Chilean miners.

They should form a talk show, like Parkinson only Parkinson with 33 Parkinsons instead of 1 Parkinson.

I'm sick of tired of the Chilean miners crap. It's just so mainstream now.

I liked it better when it was underground.

I actually do warranty laptop repair and it's true. You can usually see water residue underneith the keyboard (which is typically just a big tray.

That being said, I dropped my old laptop and it was painfully obvious that I dropped it and I sent it back in and got the DVD player replaced as well as the power plug.

Yesterday I visited London's best eye hospital (which is also world-leading) in order to find out what's been going on with my left eye. (It clicks and pops when I blink, basically.) Turned out none of them had a clue what it was. Naturally, they became very interested and excited as only doctors who encounter an unknown disease can be. One of them said that he had 18 years of experience and he had only heard of it a few times, on all occasions he had been unable to locate the problem. If the sound persists, they will refer me to the "eyelid specialist section".

Wonderful. I'm a phenomena. I hope they name this syndrome after me and that the discoverer gets a Nobel Prize. Although I would really just prefer it to go the **** away at this point in my life

EDIT: Just found out my grandfather's gone. Life is really tossing me around right now.

Rest in peace.

Honestly, I'm soon at the point where no hugs, no friends, no family, no love in the world could help me anymore. I've been through such an ocean of shit that I'm soon going to pick up a baseball bat and smash everything around me to pieces.

What kind of obligation do I have to be nice and kind when the only reason I'm alive seems to be for God to rip my life apart over and over again?

You need to talk stuff through. Email me, man. I'm not your family and I'm not going to hug you or whatever but it will feel better to express yourself. I promise.

Also there's only so much shit in life. Probability dictates that some sort of good will return at some point in the near future, since you already had so much crap going on.

Rant more out loud to someone is very helpful.

Today I just feel sorta numb. Wondering how easy (or hard) it will be for me to get health care in this country. My only trump card is the very weirdness of my symptoms. No pain, no vision issues, just that bloody squishy sound going on all the time. The worst thing is when it actually disappears for some time, like, 30 minutes or so, and you start thinking maybe it's getting better, only to have it brought back the next moment.

I know no hard times last forever, but it sure is a pain going through them when you're in the midst of them. I feel like I've aged ten years in one. (Part of my eyebrow turned gray this spring.)

You're an EU citizen and you're in England right? You can get seen very easily, if you need an operation or something serious then things can take a lot of time. I reckon with the NHS it's better to have something weird wrong with your eye than something more mundane and common (although equally as serious).

Are you a student in the UK? If so look into the health provisions your college has for foreign students.

I know several Canadians and Americans who fell ill or needed med refills in the UK on holiday, and had no problem getting seen or scripts filled. It might take a bit of time or a bit of money, or both. But in all they felt satisfied with their care and felt the time and money expended was fair compared with their experience in Canada or the USA.

As for your life situation, it looks like you are dealing with a lot on your plate, and I wonder if you will do okay in school.

I would recommend you talk to a real doc and not just a counsellor. Counseling is great for short term and simple straightforward issues, but you have had a lot of grief in the recent past, and are miles from home, and have other health issues.

Maybe you will have to take a hiatus from school to deal with them. Better you arrange the terms of your recovery and stabilization, than try to stay in school and fail or lose your funding. When you return to class, it looks more mature for you to have voluntarily arranged time off than for you to have struggled and failed. It also sets a precedent for the school to provide you accommodations if you need them.

This is important if you lose your funding - showing the school that you can succeed with support is better than failing and then saying to them "trust me, I sorted my life out and now I'm ready so give me money".

Technically I'm a student, although still enrolled in Sweden. I'm here doing an internship. Since it's virtually unpaid I don't really owe them anything but a set quota of work I must do each week. They're nice people though and understand the troubles I'm going through.

I checked with the local health center and I'm still allowed to sign up for a GP as a temporary citizen, so that's a step forward. Will do on Monday, and nag them for a referral.

I do have a lot on my plate and in a way I always had, but this past year has really struck me to the ground. As a consolation I also have a good record of overcoming obstacles. I've come quite far despite a record ranging from death, drugs and depression to assault and domestic violence. That's not to say I haven't had good things happening in my life but honestly, I fight hard for them.

Thanks guys for helping me out. I hope medical celebrities receive some sort of lifetime free public transport benefit or something. Not that I plan to stay here, the food really isn't nice at all.
