Hmm, BK may well have a point, I will make sure to paint all my reinforced doors red just to be safe.
I must disagree, for many a time has a zombie horde rushed at my red door, shortly before closing it, when on my way home from a night-walk on the streets. I suspect some kind of witchery to be the true cause.

I'd suggest lamb's blood for double resistance.
And while you're at it, I would suggest grinding some garlic into the blood to keep away vampires too

Keep him from expanding. Keep him scared. Keep him making the wrong type of troops. Control the game, don't react to it.

It says something about how degenerate the Magic card designers have become when an entire block is shaping up to be "World of Greyhawke/Ravenloft" and has both zombies and vampires galore.

Next up: Rise of the Illithids Eldrazi.

A set of, by, and for tentacle fantasies. One of the card arts (don't know which one, yet) features an angel in the grip of some dark tentacles.

No shit! It's f'realz.

O_O

Sounds ghastly.

Anyway, let's change the subject to something NOT on the edge of something ungodly.

I love beautiful wood, don't you?

On the lips of the catechist the first proclamation must ring out over and over: “Jesus Christ loves you; he gave his life to save you; and now he is living at your side every day to enlighten, strengthen and free you.” - Pope Francis, The Joy of the Gospel

Call me out if I fail or seem to fail to live up to either of these. Either I will learn something, you will learn something, or we both will.

Well you do raise a very valid point, although from my experience the witches generally either side with or are zombies.

We shall have to conduct more tests to find out for certain.

Maybe paint it red, then paint it a different colour on top, so it is not obviously a Red Door.

In related news: Vistani are now a 4th edition playable "race" (sort of). Thanks Dragon Magazine!

Edit: Also Dhampyr. Though it's probably a waste of a feat slot so I don't really count it.

I stopped paying attention to D&D after 3.5 because a lot of us had just dropped $100 on new manuals for 3... :/

You know they released it open source, right? You really didn't need to buy new manuals, just download the SRD or whatever and keep it in your old books.

I thought there was a thread on Alice in Woderland but I couldn't find it so I'm posting this here because it's probably the best moview review I've ever done and I'm proud of it:

Just saw Alice In Wonderland last night. I actually thought the scenery was appropriate enough and I espeically like the design of the cheshire cat.

What was ultimately disappointing was the writing. The plot was too "good vs evil" and it was just kind of flat. The story lost all of it's charm as a sort of allegory for being a child in victorian society and had almost none of the word play that was so prevalent in the original books and even to some extent in the Disney cartoon.

I kind of felt like an opportunity was missed to show Wonderland (refusing to call it "underland" here because that's just retarded) from the eyes of a young adult looking back on the fancy of childhood or even as an allegory for the duties of victorian life or something. Instead I got a flat script that could have had really any semi-fantasy setting pasted over it and it wouldn't have been any different.

And that's just the wonderland parts. The "out of wonderland" parts were WORSE. The beginning was jarring as it was a look at Victorian life forced through the lense of contemporary sensibilites like it was some kind of exersize in deliberate anachronism and the end (when she gets back) seems to be setting Alice up as the queen of the Chinese opium trade or something. It's just bizarre.

The performances were great though. I was pleasantly surprised by the actress who played Alice and slightly disappointed by Johnny Depp's Hatter (not whimsically crazy enough and that dance was just stupid). The directing was decent and the special effects had a few mistakes (which can be jarring) but all in all were very well done. Especially, as I said earlier, the cheshire cat.

Overall I'd say it was average. Which is a little disappointing. I was hoping for so much more.

I "saw" the movie already.

The walls of the subway stations were plastered with posters from the movie. You could pretty much guess the tenor and quality of the flick by the appearance of the Red Queen.

I was raised with the Disney movie and that's the only one I'll ever accept excluding the book of course. We were subjected to the horrors of one of the more recent remakes in class a little while ago actually. I couldn't stand it, absolutely terrible. Particularly bad was the Cheshire Cat, he was my favourite character and then they turned this really cool yet weird, purple cat into some sort of Oprah.

I don't think I could deal with Johnny Depp being an actor in Alice in Wonderland. I liked his acting in Pirates of the Carribean, thought it was reasonably funny if over zealous. I lost a lot of respect for him however, in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". I like the original version where Willy Wonka was portrayed as an innocent, subtley humorous (if a little odd), intelligent and well mannered man. Couldn't stand the eccentricity for the sake of eccentricity that Mr Depp brought to the role.

Good grief!

I'm pretty sure that was the point of the role in the remake of Willy Wonka, not just Depp's doing. He was supposed to be odd and quirky with daddy issues

@oliver: There is an entire anime representation of each version of Windows to hit the streets going all the way back to Windows 3.0. IIRC it's pretty famous by now and Windows 7 is looking awfully nice.

@jds: No idea. He hasn't petitioned me for any sort of clemency, so maybe he just found other things to do. I can't speak to whether other mods have communicated with him since.

Snow's melting here in Nebraska. Ruddy wish the city would fix all of the ruddy potholes and cracks and all that. At some places, one side of the street has been made intraversable for cars due to the sheer number and severity of the potholes on that side. Gonna be a long job for whomever has to fix 'em.
