After you've created parts 2 and 3, maybe you can make a trilogy! |

Playability: 3
It was good, quite enjoyed playing through the scenario. Small play area though.
Balance: 3
I thought the enemy was slightly too easy, it didn't produce enough soldiers and was quite easily defeated. The looping waves of attack was predictable, somewhat
Creativity: 3
Good ideas, good treasure choices.
Map Design: 2
Some problems with the design, the trading lines went over each other and disappeared into the sea. Some terrain was too bumby so it wasnt always clear if units good pass through. Some nice ideas with the cannons, though.
Story/Instructions: 3
Good story, OK instructions. Messages and pop ups might of helped at times. Perhaps some bonues objectives?
Additional Comments:
Enjoyed the scenario. Some flaws but doesnt distract from playability - kept me amused on a rainy day. :) Keep designing some more!! |

Playability: 3
It was almost as fun as a skirmish map, but not as fun as it could be. Personally, I didn't have that much fun because the map was too easy for me. I gave it a three because as an "easy" map it wasn't too bad.
Balance: 2
It was way too easy for me; The enemy fixed guns could be destroyed simply by shelling them with monitor ships, and I hardly had to train any troops at all. The british hardly attacked me at all, and their base was extremely easy to overcome. There wasn't much use for the fixed guns, since the enemy didn't really attack me.
Creativity: 3
I liked the idea of it taking place in the virgin islands, but there wasn't much creativity elsewhere in the map (such as triggers, storyline, etc.).
Map Design: 2
I liked all the rivers, but there were many design issues. The terrain wasn't painted that well, and there were poor transitions between land/water, etc. I liked the two-way trade route.)
Story/Instructions: 2
The intructions were kinda confusing at first, and the objective was simple. I think there shoulda been some secondary objectives, such as "destroy all the wonders that are on the island". A starting cinematic would have been good.
Additional Comments:
This scenario could be pretty good. Just add some objectives and improve on the terrain details, and maybe add some triggered attacks by the enemy or somethin' like that. I liked the overall features of the island but once again, it was the finer details (or lack of details) of the terrain that ruined the map. |

Ok guys I have been gone for awhile getting some comp issues straightened out...but with that all done it looks like there are some scenarios to be rated! =)
Playability: 3
While playable, the overall game was hindered by several pieces of the game puzzle not seeming to work together. There are buildings which would seem to be strategic objectives to take over, yet you cannot capture the buildings. The British forces seem to have a gather point set that marches them directly into cannon fire. See Balance and map design for more.
Balance: 2
The Brits are horrendously outclassed in this "scenario". In age one I already have several cannons that completely mow down anyone that moves up....which seems to be the M.O. for the AI. It looks to have a gather point set behind my front line...often the troops don't even stop to fire until half of them are already dead. Also the AI builds very few troops. I don't know if this is because of the type of AI it is or what. I seem to get 12 gazillion of food wood and gold...if the AI got that as well...it should be able to spam a ton of units.
Creativity: 3
The idea is cool...But I might think that the Caribe tribes would be better in this part of the world. While the idea is cool...To get a significant upgrade in creativity would require a lot of changes. Addition of objectives...primary and possibly secondary story lines would really help. The map as it sits now is pretty much a skirmish map with a lame duck AI. See map design for more...
Map Design: 2
There are some definite issues with the map. While some of the actual map design is pretty good, i.e. terrain differences, etc. The area size is way too small. The map should probably be about twice the size it is now...Also the trade route goes into the water, maybe stopping it on land would look a wee bit better. While there are plenty of treasures on the map...there is a significant lack of eye candy.
Story/Instructions: 1
This is a rough spot on this "scenario". I know that a 1 must seem unduly harsh...but...As a scenario there is usually a definite story as to what is happening, the background...why the armies are here...whether a historical reason or a fictional reason dreamed up by the creator of the scenario. This really has none except "Kill The Other Guy". Usually the story or lack there of really can hurt a rating...I often see pretty good scenarios that get a 1 or 2 on story line that really pulls down their overall rating. It doesn't take much to add a story. Adding objectives would help as well.
Additional Comments:
Overall, while I like the concept, and I know that making scenarios is tough work, this one could use a bit of work, though you are definitely on the right track. I will look forward to seeing what scenarios 2 and 3 have to offer up...
