This is “King of the Hill” Free for all Multiplayer Scenario for 4 players (human only) with a new twist.
This scenario offers many interesting new strategies with unique game play similar to “Strategic Objectives”.
This is because there are several military buildings around the map that can be captured and re-captured by any one of the players.
This scenario is for TAD+TWC (so you need to have them both).
Screen Shots
________Map Overview______________Center of the Map________
Map Design
Map design by Mahoke and myself.
Mahoke did most of this beautiful map design per my design layout.
He did incredible job laying the map foundations very accurately.
Mahoke also designed the center of the map.
I could never have done it so well.
I later on added the outer rings after the map center and foundations were in place.
The rest of the work (triggers and cinematic) were done by me.
Game Play
In the center of the arena there is a hill with a Taj Mahal.
The player who captures and holds the Taj Mahal for 5 (or 7) minutes wins the game.
The Taj Mahal gives the player who currently controls it 1200 resources per minute.
There are two outer rings around the center of the map with 8 neutral military buildings guarded by guardians.
These buildings can be captured and re-captured by any one of the players.
Capturing and holding any one of these buildings give players 600 additional resources per minute.
Buildings can be captured by 5 military units after all enemy units around the building are killed.
Players start in colonial and they advance to the next age every time they capture a new military building.
When players loose a military building they go back to the previous age.
These buildings consist of Saloons, Artillery Foundries, Castle, Noble Hut, Caravan, and a Corral.
Captured buildings allow players to train additional unique units.
Players can even train units that are not usually available for their civ when they capture these buildings.
For example, the Artillery Foundry allows all players to train a wide variety of cannons.
Native and Asian units are also available to all civs from some of these buildings.
Each player has a base with one Barracks (30K HP), 3 Outposts (10K HP), Market (5K HP) and a Field Hospital.
Players also start with 3 spies and 3 priests.
Each base is surrounded with hills and walls (10K HP).
Players receive 800 resources per minute from each outpost as long as the outpost is standing.
That is your first major income as there are no villagers in this scenario.
Capturing the Taj Mahal will start a 5 minute victory timer.
Victory timers are being reset when players loose the Taj Mahal.
The player who captured the Taj Mahal has to have at least 5 military units in that area at all times.
Otherwise he will loose the Taj Mahal.
Players who control the Taj Mahal can issue a 20 second cease fire.
Military units training time is 3 times faster and unit upgrade is twice faster.
Population limit is 220 for all civs and all 14 civs have 120 level Home City with 25 card deck where all cards are military unit cards.
It is not allowed to delete captured buildings in this scenario.
Players who delete any of these buildings will be penalized.
Playing the Game
Logon to ESO, go to “Browse Games” and Host the game.
Select game type “Scenario” and then choose one of the “Annihilation FFA…” file names from the list of scenarios:
“Annihilation FFA 5min Vc6” – 5 minute victory timer, Includes 2 minute cinematic with on screen instructions.
“Annihilation FFA 5min Vnc6” – 5 minute victory timer, “No cinematic” version
“Annihilation FFA 6min Vc6” – 6 minute victory timer, Includes 2 minute cinematic with on screen instructions.
“Annihilation FFA 6min Vnc6” – 6 minute victory timer, “No cinematic” version
“Annihilation FFA 7min Vc6” – 7 minute victory timer, Includes 2 minute cinematic with on screen instructions.
“Annihilation FFA 7min Vnc6” – 7 minute victory timer, “No cinematic” version
It may be a good idea to play the cinematic version when some of the players never played the scenario before.
In any case, the “Objectives” within the scenario still explains everything pretty clearly.
Please note that this is a FFA game even if you don’t set the game as FFA.
You can play this scenario with all 14 civs.
All civs have 120 home city level with 25 card deck.
EDIT
Please note that I have a new version where I removed the Daimyo and Shogun cards for Japan, so that should fix the imbalance.
Installation Instructions
Copy the scenarios to "My Documents/My Game/Age of Empires 3/Scenario" folder.

Special thanks
First I want to thank Mahoke who worked with me on this scenario for his beautiful map design.
As I said earlier, I could never have done it so well.
I would also like to thank Reyk for his map Editor that I used to make the cinematic and screen shots.

Playability: 5
Ton's of units; ton's of battles; ton's of fun!
There's not much else you can say here, top quailty stuff.
Balance: 4
Since everything has been so accurately layed out everything is completely fair in terms of the map. You, the player, chooses the units you want to purchase at the 8 buildings around the map or at your barracks in your base so everyone has the same unit balance.
The only thing that makes it slightly unfair to some civs is the decks. These provide good military bonus's in games and some are better than others. The souix inparticular get a support card which includes 2 warhut travois which I think was overlooked as they're HP has been altered to the same as everyone's starting barracks/warhut so they are 30K.
Creativity: 4
Had the game not already had a KOTH mode here you would definetly have deserved a '5'. A great twist on the koth gametype however that allows you to play without the stress of all the economic side of things. Actually you do get control of your economy by taking over buildings - but if ya get what I mean - it's much more relaxed and you can concentrate on fighting with the huge variety of units!
Map Design: 5
Superb!
I'm sure If I had some kind of online ruler everything but be precise to the minisculest of milimetres. No clutter, very simple map design yet so effective! Good job.
Story/Instructions: 5
The instructions tell you exactly what you need to do and cover everything. The instructions are in the form of a cut scene at the start of the map.
Additional Comments:
-Take out the Souix support card that enables two travois.
Very nice map! Can be played over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and you get the picture! :)[Edited on 03/29/08 @ 03:48 PM]

My review about this scenarios:
Playability: 5
Exellent, only problem is that mostly in every game, it tells to someone: Failed to load scenario. And then its a unbalanced battle between 3 players, but I dont think its your fault.
Balance: 3
As TMOUlRich said, some decks are unbalanced. Also some civs got more adventage than others, since they can get better units or more units
as in barracks as in the buildings you can capture, also some unit upgrades are missing, so some civs are able to ugprade their units and some not (the main one is the chinese, there are no ugprades for keshiks, steppe riders, changdao swordsmen and meteor hammers) causing a little unbalance.
And some civs need more resources than other, example aztecs need a lot of food, as do sioux, since most aztec units cost food, and the units of the buildings you capture that mostly cost gold havent got upgrades or there is a limit to upgrade em. Of course you can use market, but in market you lose resources causing a little unbalance...
Also, when you lose a building, you are still able to upgrade your units to the age you was before...
But overall its a balanced, I would like to give here a 3.5... But I will just give it a 3 since someone alreayd give you a 4.
Creativity: 4
There is already a king of the hill option, so it isnt so creative, though I liked how you could age up with each building you captured. Also allowing you to train different and cooler units and to get more resources.
Map Design: 5
Ditto TMOUllrich
Story/Instructions: 5
Very good instructions, as TMOUllrich said, since it tells exactly what you need to do with cool cinematics, though they a bit long...
Addition comment:
Only addition comment is a bit-off topic, I know that I did practically the same review that TMOUllrich, I just wanted to tell my opinion to everyone...
-Thanks |

Playability: 5
Ahhhh...I do so love Moshe scenarios...Excellent layout and gameplay.
Balance: 4
I found it well balanced with the exception that the military building guards weren't very aggressive you could take them out pretty easy with not a lot of troops. Pick em off one at a time...maybe more units would make that tougher?
Creativity: 5
As usual totally unique game play. High marks for a great scenario!
Map Design: 4
Once again the map is brilliantly laid out and detailed. My only gripe would be that once you get the artillery foundry it becomes pretty easy to off a base by mortaring it and simply protecting your mortars...
Story/Instructions: 5
This usually my pet peeze, but on this map everything is laid out beautifully...instructions clear and precise!
Additional Comments:
As per usual a super job! Dl this one guys! |

Playability: 5
No bugs what so ever, however a tiny but of lagging during the cinematic, however i decided to just give a 5 since laggs have little to do with the map itself and mroe to do with the comp
Balance: 4
Some civs are stronger than others, mainly because of the decks. I recommend no decks for the civs, therefore evening everything out. japan is also op, their dyaimo and shogun ccan trin seige, calv, and invisible archers, they don;t need buildings to train. EDIT: Since u have fixed the dyaimo thing, i increased the score by two points :)
Creativity: 3
Now this is where most of your maps go bad, the creativity of your maps are not so high, hold the building in the midle (done before) capture buildings for unit spawns. However u did add the resource grants which is a positive, average = 3
Map Design: 5
excellent map design, the terrian seems equal on both sides :) all triggers work well, includeing some complicated one.
Story/Instructions: 3
The instructions are well however they go by a bit fast and some instructions wil be missed, i recommend a cinematic (or a fade out) and then explaining the rules as opitional. U can use the destory these units in the next 6 seconds to skip the tutorial. You should also include a storyline on y the buddha is so important. You really should make the cinematic opitional instead of multiple versions.
Additional Comments:
Nice game overall fine i ahve increased your score by a points, however i belive that u ahve way to many versions to keep track of, u should make a MAX of 3 versions, or everyone will get confused
