This mod lets you see the names of your soldiers when they're individually selected.
Each civilization has a different set of first and last names that their units can receive.
Here is some information on a few specific things:
-I tried as best as I could to choose names from the AOEIII time period, so my sources were primarily passenger lists of ships heading to the Americas. However, some names could be historically inaccurate. There are also names from the default explorer names, since I built on that list rather then make one from scratch.
-The Ottoman, Russian, and to a certain extent, Dutch civilisations have less names then the other civs, if you come across any sources, it would be helpful if you emailed them to me.(shadow_451@hotmail.com)
-The default name for each unit is "mercenary [unitname]", so civs that can't normally build them have that for the unit's name.
-Unique units have the names from their respective civilisations as the default, so a british janissary would have an ottoman name.
-Natives and mercs don't get names, since I would need to research so many names (to avoid repetition I would need at the very least ten first names and fifteen last names), multiply that by the number of native tribes and all the mercenaries's nations and you've got a lot of work.
-Finally, I didn't do villagers, since I have no way to seperate the males from the females.
